This guy has the best methods to buy a car

So I'm selling whats left of an old hot rod(34 pickup) and I get this guy who comes over with his buddy, they both look it over REAL hard for about 2-3 minutes while whispering to each other and then he starts with the low-balling he offers me about 20% of what I'm asking to which I respond with " come on I can get more than that if I just scrap it" then he starts looking it over some more and then finally backs off and stares at it and says the figure again and then says it the best I'm going to get for it, I couldn't believe this guy and I said "sorry dude but I'm not retarded and I won't sell it for anywhere near that price" then he looks around my property at the other projects I have sitting in my garage and a couple of parts cars I have in the back yard and he says "I think you will sell it to me after I call the town about all of these unregistered piles of shit on your property" I couldn't believe somebody would say this to a person they are trying to buy from so I walked over to him told him the car is not for sale to him and to get the FUCK OFF of my property, his buddy had a smirk on his face when I said this but they just kind of looked stunned like they didn't know what to do and stood there for a second and then finally turned around and walked back to there car. I'm starting to get tired of selling cars around here, I don't know if it's just my area or what but it seems like nobody wants to be reasonable about making a deal, I have sold a few other cars and have gotten some jackasses before but never anybody that used threats to make a deal.

Some people deserve to have their teeth knocked in. It's sad that you can't do it anymore. I've said it before, I'll say it again-Everyone needs their ass kicked once. Then they'd think before they speak.

I have not sold anything cars recently, but my buddy has stroies just like that. It almost seems like the come to case the joint.

I've sold parts and have gotten pretty good on gauging how serious they are by the tone of their voice. If I even sense the dude is a dickweed I back off and end the deal. My time is too vauable to jerk around with these guys.

My topper story is when this A-hole who was hounding me and, ultimately my wife, over this hacked up '34 frame I had. He guy called my house and my wife politely told him I wasn't home. He then proceeded to get loud with her and demanded that she give him our address and directions to the house.

My wife again told him I wasn't home and that she knew nothing about it. He got loud with her again, called her a bitch or something like and she was 8 months pregant at the time.

Get this, I see the guy at a swap and he bee lines right to me. Asking all sorts of questions about the frame. I get in his face about him getting loud of the phone with my wife.

The bastard had the balls to deny it ever happened, I get even angerier at him. My swap partner (my dad) steps in between us for I was going to knock this guy out.

I'm still miffed and bitter about it.

There are some crazy mother f-ers out there that are totally queer over Ford parts.

 

Watch your stuff-the low lifes may come back some night. Unbelievable how some folks confuse balls with brains.

 

I got a friend that low-balls, but he warns the seller in advance, he doesn't buy cars, he steals em. Once he states a price hes willing to pay and the seller saids no, he walks away but leaves his number. Half the time, the seller calls and he gets the car for his price.

Matter of fact, a guy was selling a 60' Ford 2dr ranch wagon for $8-9K. He offered $5K. Seller said no so my friend left his number. Seller called a few weeks later and said he'd take $5K. My friend told the guy his wife was in the hospital and money was tight. He bought the car for $2500.

 

That guy needs to be signed up for the Converse dental plan.

 

A while back there was a thread about people asking about cars for sale, and a few post about cars being stolen after someone asked about them. I can't remember who, but someone suggested acting like you were going to think it over, and getting a name and phone number and whatever else info you could. That way, if something happens, you have a way to get a hold of them. Sounds like a good idea when dealing with someone like that. I'd have a hard time not punching the shithead in the face for something like that, but then i'd be the one going to jail and getting sued.

Nothing wrong with bartering the price on something , but some people have no clue. Offer what your willing to pay and leave the door open for a chance later. I'd have thrown them off the property as well, I hate people.

 

Should of dialed 911 and reported the assholes as thieves caught in the act. Leave them standing with their dicks in their cuffed hands. The police would tend to believe the property owner.

 

It's good to see that you kept your kool with that asshole. I'm afraid that in my anger I might have told him that "if that were to happen you better damn well have fire insurance on your house!!!"

Threats are always better answered with a better threat.

 

Too bad you don't have his address....so you could sick the code enforcement people on his property! What a dickhead!

 

I had a similar incident a few years back. Guy down the road came over and offered below junk price for a car I didn't have for sale. I refused it. Even if he came back with a decent offer after lowballing that bad I still won't sell to those type of people.

About a week later I get a letter for having two many cars on my property. I go to courthouse to zoning department. Little background info. on me first. I'm at the courthouse at least once a week because I buy foreclosed homes part time, so I know alot of people in different parts of the courthouse. I'm always nice to them no matter if I get the answers I want or not. Anyway I make a deal with zoning to build a pole barn that summer so I didn't need to get rid of anything. They told me, who turned me in and says" that pain in the ass been turning alot of people in."

I knew he was running a body shop out of his barn in a residental zoning and I thinkI let it slipped out. Fair game right. Zoning couldn't believe it.

The guy stops back over a couple of times and couldn't figure out how come I'm not selling anything. Then the guy gets his zoning violation letter. He tried to rezone but they wouldn't budge for him.He moved out shortly after that and I'm still here.

 

Christ, my bloodpressure is up just THINKING about this situation. I'd stay vigilant for a while. Do you have any info on them?
GGGGhhhhhahahaaahhaaaaaa!!! I can't even type, I'm so pissed imagining how I would have handled this situation.

 

I never offer less than 1/2 the asking price. I've left my number and offer but never gotten caleed back before.
If some knucklehead offers me some low-ball deal I just tell them to hit the road. I won't waste my time talking to fools who don't understand that offering some dumbass lowball figure is the same as saying "I believe you are a total dumbass and would give me this stuff but you're too stupid to know it.".

 

I'd have shot him in the face, then had his buddy haul him out of there.

Amazing how some people think they can just go around issuing threats to people. Eventually they threaten the wrong guy.

I remember being in a buddy of mine's repair shop and some guy who's truck my buddy was working on comes in there pissed because his truck isn't done. Then he tells my buddy (who really isn't a guy you'd want to fuck with) "you'd better have my god damned truck done when I get back or I'm gonna take a piece of your fat ass".

My buddy followed the dude outside and beat his ass in the parking lot while the guy's wife watched from the passenger seat of their other car. He lost a few teeth over that one.

 

Assholes like him are the reason I never sell anything, I just keep piling the stuff up, I'll let my kids deal with them after I'm planted.

 

If I really wanted his address I could get it, I still have his phone# on my caller ID. If anything were to happen such as code enforcement and/or thieving then I will know who to turn to about it, and I am mild tempered enough to let some things slide but in this situation if he does go through with it you can bet your ass I WILL retaliate with some very vicious means that are not what should be talked about on the internet.
