77.6 mph did this to my model a. Stock gears 'll do that to you. I ordered a new alloy gear from you know who and I am still waiting , bummer. I did pick up this new underdrive pulley from Charlie Yapp and it's the bees knees. I think the pulley will be a pain in the**** to install but it's time to check the babbit anyhow. happy bangin.

There is a time and a place for that and that was not it.
Hope it was close to home when it came apart, does not look like a good way to end a road trip.

It was a buddy towing distance, with a chinese ratchet strap at that. That's hot rodding, if you aren't breaking anything you aren't trying very hard.

Wow! Never actually seen the results of a screwed fibre-wheel! Changed mine old ali one for a straight-cut bronze set last winter, howls like crazy now.

Noise equals friction, friction robs power, therefore that*****s but what can we do? I got a AL gear at cw moss today and i hope to get er bangin this weekend.

Straight cut gears are always noisy, because of the backlash.

Helical gears are quieter, but more expensive to manufacture.
