Does anyone have pictures of bobbed rear fenders for their coupes. I am considering bobbing the rears to compensate for the space between the rear drip rails and the top of the tire. I am in the process of "unchannalling" my Olds 31 5 window and think that the bobbed look may be the way to go. Aslo, has anyone used an old tire cover to make front fenders. I like the way they look. Brian
Love it,they,re supposed to be street tyres, right? What are they?Very Graffiti coupe~ish, that will start everyone off again!!
The tires are the Radir 10.00-15's. They are not DOT approved but I do use them on the street. Thanks..
The rusty looking bobbed fenders are a mismatched pair. Left side is a 29, right side is a 31. The arc of a 29 and 31 fender is the same, but you have to drill a new bolt pattern to install the wrong year fender on a highboy. The fender swap won't work on a full fendered car due to the differing width of the running board apron cutout. 31's are an inch wider and may help if you're running wide tires. The 29 fender's fit my particular tire/wheel combo better. The white fenders shown are a pair of 31's that had the stock bottom end sectoned and the fender bottom moved up. I like the look, but it would be easier to decide if the fender color matched the body color. (Granddaughter offered to rattle can em for me . . . and I'm still waiting.) I have a nice pair of 29 fenders that I'll probably cut down similar to the white ones. That should make for a better look with the skinnier rear tires. Still looking for a 36 spare tire cover for the cycle fenders up front. Been doing the Ebay bit and missing every time so far. Getting closer though....
Maybe, got three sets of fenders I can screw around with. Bad part is the straight bobs don't match width-wise. I'll try to get some rattle can red oxide shot onto the white fenders in the next couple of weeks. I think that will be a pretty good change and the white fenders won't be 'hogging the show' so to speak.... Did you ever see the Edelbrock Deuce roadster back in the day? Pics of it show a pair of stock 32 fenders on the back. Not bad, but a touch shorter may be better.
