I just searched for a Model Car Sunday thread for today and I find nada. Here are some pics of a Chevy pickup that I've been working on, sort of doing a trial run for the full size one that I have to get back to soon.
Interesting thing. The model kit came with no bumpers so I used some from the AMT '41 Ford woodie kit. They look great! Then I remembered that I have some real '41 bumpers out in the shed that were left over from a previous project. My real pickup came without bumpers so guess what.....

On the model I also used '40 Ford wheels and hubcaps and the Olds motor that came with the same kit, the vintage '39/40 Ford Tudor sedan kit that hasn't been made for at least 40 years.

That sedan kit was re-issued in the '80's. Truck looks good, would look cool with whitewalls too.

Some progress on the HAMB-T sedan finally. Nothing major, been busy with 1:1 stuff. Got the ch***is ***embled. BMF'd the front axle and backing plates. It doesn't look perfect but it's not bad.

That's a good lookin' T. The real truck will not have whitewalls. That's why I didn't put them on the model. I was tempted though! pigpen

Man! That Big Duece looks absolutely real! At first glance I thought it was a full scale roadster! Nice work!

Thanks for the compliments, it's the only Deuce I'll ever be able to afford!

Damn! That roadster is awesome man. What paint is that? I dig the nerf bars. One of these days I'll finish one of my Big Deuces.

Thanks! It's House of Kolor Kandy Pagan Gold. I scratch built the nerfs to match the ones on the front and rear of Gray Baskerville's famous 32. The fronts look kinda like **** because I covered them in Bare metal Foil instead of plating them.

Very nice job on the Deuce 38chev.
The white accents and nerf bars really set it off.
Also great job on the chopped windshield, thats hard to do and come out looking that good.

Great work 38chev, I love the color, especially with the white running boards. I look forward to starting my latest deuce project soon, at this moment in time I'm currently getting stocked up on my supplies.

I think Revell/Monogram is getting ready to re-release the kit, so you may be able to order it from a hobby shop.

That 32 model messed with my mind ******** for a second.

  15. For anyone interested, Revell/Monogram have announced that the Big Deuce will be re-released late this year, same Flattie and all, new box art.
Too accompany it on shelves there will also be a 'Tall T' Coupe released by Lindburg at around the same time, I think this may be Y block powered like the Lindberg 'Double Dragster'.
    Cheers,
    Doc.

About a month ago, I could still find them in Hobby Lobby stores marked for Clearance. (about $50) Don't know if they still have them or not.
