27 Ford all steel custom street rod, 47 Cadillac flat head engine, 37 Lasalle 3 spd. Many cool vintage parts. Safe, fun old school hot rod. For my 1965 chevy Impala S.S. deal or no deal?
How well built is that T, it has some uhh "unique" features, but if it is a clean straight and well built car then I would go for it.
It is built very well the frame is custom built and every thing is built to the 40 style! What do you think something like this is worth?
The Ford looks cool but I never cared for a car you couldn't drive anywhere other than flat parking lots.
It's hard to say by looking at the photo but I think you would be trading up on the deal, its probably worth more than your impala.
I'll throw my 2 cent's in too i guess The T look's cool, and i do like the Cad mill/ LeSalle set up. As far as a decent trade..Well, i'd have to really think about it. T's are damn cool car's, especially tin.. And your 65 look's nice as well, aside from the wheel's .. But, your 65 is an SS, and from the fender tag's it's a big block right? More than likely a 396 originally? IF that's a 409 car DON'T do it, they didn't make many of them in 65!! Also, Is it a stick car as well with a 12 bolt? I ask because a true SS with the right engine, trans a rear combination is worth some pretty good cash..especially if it's solid. And your's look's to be a pretty nice car from the pics. I'm into Impalas myself. I've owned 4 and have one now..so i tend to watch the prices of them from time to time, and i'd honestly have to say the value of the SS, if it's as good as it it look's, is more than the T..probably quite a bit more actually. So, it come's down to, are you tired of the Impala? If so, make the trade and have fun with the roadster. But i don't think from a financial standpoint it's a good move..I honestly feel the SS is worth more. That's just me though. Both cars look cool. Tony
keep the chevy but give him the wheels and go get some factory rallys or anything but what is on it the chevy is gonna be a better car all round value ,use and just because it will be
it has a 454 in it and also it wasa 396S.S. it has a 300 turbo trans 3 speed auto. Its not that iam sick of the car it is just that I am more into the older stuff now but every time i drive it i love it!
It all depends on what you want. At a show I would not take a second look at the impala but would stop to see the T-Bucket. That is personal taste though, both very nice cars but the Bucket is cooler.
I think you just answered your own question. If you love driving it, keep it. You will regret selling it some day, maybe not even too far away. A cool T can be built at a fairly resonable price..So even if you didn't want to sell the Impala, you might be able to get what's needed to build a nice old style hot rod for a fraction of what this trade may cost you in the long run.. Or, if the excitement of the Impala wear's off, sell it outright. You will probably have cash left over after building your own T. I guess i'm looking at it as more of a financial thing.. trade value's if you will.. Tony
Tony this is how it happened I am in school now and I can use money to help out with the bills so I thought I would try and sell my implala for 15,000 and then this trade came along so I am not sure wha to do I would really love to have the money!
i would say hell no your 65 impala is worth more than that thing when you 65 impala was built i also have a 1965 impala ss 396 except my has two antennas on the back, and i have a other 65 impala 2 door ht wich is i am the 3rd owner of it and i would not trade it for anything and i own a 66 327 ss 2 door and a 64 wagon well any ways i say no- the 65 impala is worth more and it also look nicer and looks to be in better condition
In all honesty, if that car is as nice in person as it look's in pics i don't think you would have a problem getting 15K for it. List it for sale , ask what you want to get for it and see where it go's before you trade. If the cash is what you need at this point, a trade isn't going to help anyway. Tony. PS, i'd have to see your car in person, but i was thinking it to be worth a little more than that. Just my oppinion, at least around here anyway.
Keep it. I sold my 65 SS 396/glide car 15 years ago and I regret it. I am going to try and not hurt anyone's feelings here but that car (the roadster) doesn't "flow" to me.....just my opinion.
That's one damn fine looking Impala, and it's frame isn't even cut! You still have the old pick-up? There's your hot rod project.
Yes i still have the pick-up and I know I should just stick to one at a time but somtimes my mind races and i want every thing I know there are other people that car agree with me!
I'd agree....keep the impala, it's probably worth more and easier to sell if you ever decided to... OT here, but any of you guys really into 66 impalas...pm me got a 'what's it worth' question for you.....
