I really like the HAMB's own oldbobsign. Larry is an awesome striper and does out of this world hand lettering. He is truly an old world craftsman!

Lussier's work shown in Rodding & Restyling around 1958-9 is my only info.
Al Cravero hasn't been named yet - it'd be great see some of his work.

in my area , there were a ton (not as many now as say 10 years ago) ...figure it like the over the road tractors....and how some tend to go all out ...show truck stuff etc.... there used to be a lot of NICE dump trucks with really nice striping and lettering by hand......most of the stuff in my area has went the way of the decal.....across the river in his neck of the woods , there are still nice hand lettered trucks...most of my hand painted customers either went broke or got out when they could ..... brandon

Have you ever seen the stuff Safariknut puts out? Have you ever been inside his garage and seen the range of his talent? If I EVER get ANY of my projects to the stripeable stage, I'm heading to Tecumseh, Michigan.

He has always been nice to me and stops to say hi whenever, wherever..

Dan Shaw... Hands down the fastest full time stripping and lettering guy I've ever seen. He can write with a brush faster than most can with a pen. Its very common for him to Layout, letter(3 colors) and stripe up to 4 Long nose Peterbuilts in a day, and be home by super. I've seen this many times first hand. In his favorite words of wisdom he reminds me constantly... "Boy! I taught you everything you know.. But not everything I know" For those of you that know him, he has a way with words...

And of coarse.. Jim Farr.. AKA "Dauber" Like him or hate him he's one of the best we'll ever see and get to meet. He and I have formed a respectful relationship in the last three years and I am very proud to have stripped next to him. He was there in the hey day of REAL RACE CAR LETTERING.. He has taught me a lot.

    Honerable mention;

    Brandon... Cool guy, always smiling.

Skratch... One of the few Cali guys I can stand to talk too.

Larry Hoppie.. Local guy, never fooled around. just did a ton of Dump trucks.

Bill Roell.. One of the best, easy to talk to. Honor to meet him

The Egyptian... Heard the name and saw the work for years, just met him last year.. Great guy!

Robbie Baker.. Holds his own well, We also grew up together, he's been at my side during things when everyone else had done ran for there mommys, ...We crashed a lot of nice cars!

Daren.. At local shows, real nice guy. Hell of an artist.

Boitnott... Gotta mention him on volume of work alone!

and Top Hat!! RIP... Never knew him, but I liked wathching him.

    Thats it.
    Thanks guys.

a couple other locals ....not sure you'd call them stripers ....but they did have a style all their own......

jerry madlander (sp) .......used to see his curly q's and lettering on a bunch of dirt cars.....

the amazing spiderman....bob cook....this guy was it ....pimp daddy sign guy..:D i'll let the smart ass comments he made to me at the shades slide....might have been the mixed drink ....then again ...probably just him....

tim mc comus (sp) ....nice guy ....does superb work....

john whitney....another nice guy ....and excellent work...

    That Frank Palmer kid
And an old long lost friend from Florida "Polock Joe"

  28. Tommy the greek
    Anthony White
Jr Huff ( the best pinstriper in the world by age)

My own personal opinion Von Dutch was a loser,I don't have to respect anyone that doesn't respect himself or anyone he met.He hated everyone,I didn't think he was much of a pinstriper. He was a better at other art than pinstriping and lettering. He got famous for being crazy, alot of OK artist get well known that way.The quite artist never gets known .

I am known for my speed and flames

I want to say something about ray( El Vago) .He is a great pinstriper and all around artist.I have to say he is one of the nicest men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and become friends with.
