Nice treatice ..you summed it up pretty well. One does bond with one's personal conveyance. Be it a rent-a-car that shared some hair-raising, crazy, I should've been arrested moments, to my 60 Cad that has been my partner in crime for 26 years, to my 47 knuckle...still chuggin, to my new bagger. Sometimes it isn't so much a factor of time, so much as what those times were like. My new bike already has 40,000 miles of soul installation. It's getting there... If my Caddy could talk...I'd have to tell her to shut up, luckily we have a deal. My old shovelhead got sold off to witness protection. She definitely knew too much...
How old is this thread anyhow?

My old race bike 1999 SV650. Getting jiggy in Turn 2 at Sears Point. Great bike, GSXR 750 front end, Marchecini wheels, 180 rear tire, braced swing arm.

My old DRZ400E. Sure do miss that bike, but I didnt ride it near enough. I'll likely have another one some day. Picture taken about 40 miles up in the hills outside Gold Beach, OR. And no, its not a small bike, I'm just a large fooker.

Not HAMB friendly, but all I have that runs at the moment! '93 Suzuki GS500 w/lots of mods including full GSXR suspension. Lots of fun in the twisties and on the track...but not a whole lot of oomph in the straights. :(

Here's some pics of a KLR650 Chopper that I thought was interesting. I found these pics online somewhere.

Kinda homely, but a fun concept I think.

ChopTop and ChopPop (R.I.P.) before and after taking our first Land Speed Record in 2001. We officially held the worlds SLOWEST land speed record, 36 MPH and change. 50cc SC-G class.

it felt much sillier than it looks, and it looks pretty silly. ChopPop and I giggled like school girls all way home from the Salt. One of the best memories of the time with my Dad. We had a BLAST.

That's where it's at. Records get broken, but a good day out is something you can hang on to.
