Here's one of many upcoming threads on this awesome event. I would have taken MANY more pictures, but my camera has a small memory card, and I didn't bring the spare.... From now on, I will be completely bored at any car show that doesn't have drags or autocross.... I've been spoiled! Thumz up to the Kontinentals for a great event. All dusted and ready to roll! Found a shady spot
Thanks for the pics. It's good to see more hot rod events that are more than just lawn chair type shows. I'm not knockin' the static type shows. I think that there is room for all types of shows. Have fun,Smokey
Yea, I know what you mean. We're all like kids, we need intertainment. I really like these kind of shows.
It was a fun day. I got to meet Denise, smell the nitro, get my hearing damaged, and talk to some nice folks. The Kontinentals did a GREAT job, talked to some, super nice guys, and your 38 is keen! Any one didn't go missed out.
It was hard to tell what anyone's times were, because there were like 50 bulbs burned out on the signs that showed E.T.... Seemed like the nailhead coupe was having tuning issues early in the day, I left at 6 and they hadn't run there cl*** yet.
We came in right behind you, and spent quite a while looking at your car since we have a '37 coupe. It, unfortunately, was at home where it always is. We'll have to try and track you down next time we see your car at an event. Thanks for the pics! Slonaker
Really? I think I was so excited to get there I didn't hang around the car much.... I'm gonna try to go to Pistons N Paint in Denton, and hopefully the roundup, maybe we can connect there.
On the first three runs I got in, I was having issues with the car laying down on me really bad and banging-out. Jimmy White talked me into taking some timing out of it, and wow....what a difference that made. Best ET after changing the timing was 13.34, best mph was 103. The 103 was on the last run of the night when I missed second gear. I am pretty positive it would have gotten in the high 12's on that run if I hadn't missed a shift. I still haven't gotten a full p*** in without something going slightly awry. I'm still trying to get the hang of shifting at the exact right time, and launching. I was turning 1.900 60 ft times, but I think it could be better with practice. Curtis's car ran I think a best of 12.80 or so....the mph was down a little off 100 I think. Pretty damn fast!
Maybe take-up a collection, or have everyone bring 6 light-bulbs next year Find out what size they need.
I can't believe i missed it but had surgery late this week and could not make it but i have already heard stories from there and it ain't over yet
i had lots of fun..also the outcast sedan and dw green coupes were fast as ****..and for looks that purplely 409? 32 was a bad*** lil car.and hrladycruisers olds is very nice in person....and curtis'nailhead coupe well it is slick and fast.. really there were a ton of nice cars...
Clearly the scallops on my ElCamino didn't get me the 0.5sec I was promised. I want my money back from someone.
