Here is just a few pics that I took from foothill ranch on my camera phone.. as I was helping a friend evacuate his home.. The one of the bush burning is in front of thier house. the firefighters got it put out though quick
Holy ****! I hope that turns out OK for your freind. Was the Corvette parked next to the bush alright after that?
No fires out here in the desert but I'm out a daily driver from monday morning trying to get to work in valencia got hit by a lost ***** from road closers, they almost have them contained in northern LA county but the air is still smoky. I have one spare bedroom out of harms way.
Every year during the St. Ana wind season, same thing. I can't help but thinking that most of the fires start because of ARSON . On Sunday morning only Malibu had a fire and by the end of the day we had another inferno like the ring of fire a few years back. The ironic thing is, we had almost no rain in spring, otherwise things would have been even worse ....
Damn bigdaddy, I hope everything turns out okay for your buddy. Nix that, ....I hope everything turns okay for everyone down there. Good luck to you all. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like down there..... Todd
I notice on today's LAtimes.com, there's a photo album for the 4th day, picture 37 or 38 or so is a burned out '55 Buick 2dr parked curbside. Maybe it's the same car. Has the right headlight still in it. Looks like the one on this thread does, too, hard to tell through the heat waves though. About all I can say is it does show the metal was thicker in the older cars, the warpage is real obvious in most of the pictures of the later model cars that burned.
This fire is still going. Had to evacuate the area of the base where I work because that fire was headed our way. Fortunately there isn't a whole lot in this area of the base that the firefighters need to protect, so they can pretty much just try to steer it away from the areas where we work.
