I'm rebuilding the motor for a buddy of mine. We used the opportunity to send the body up north for another buddy to tweak on the thing a bit. Anyway, this is what he come up with. Pearl red base and scarlet candy/flake roof and spears. Pretty fucking badass
THAT is beautiful !!!! I've always loved 50's Ponchos and that was is one of the nicest I've seen in a long time. Great color combo. Glenn
Thanks all. My buddy's so excited over it. No on the Moorpark show. I put the short block together, but no cylinder heads yet. Rick, remember Mustang Bob from the street races? He STILL does my machine work
Groucho, may I come by and fix one of my Mercs shift levers down by the tranny on your lift ? Some California sun won't hurt either and nice Poncho by the way.
Groucho, Easily the nicest '57 Pontiac I've seen...clean, lean and straight as an arrow. Stay safe out there in fire country.
Beautiful car. I've wanted a 57 Super Chief since 1957 but I've never been able to hook up with one. We don't see many 57s around here. That's a bitchin car.
Damn Groucho.... I swear everything you touch turns to gold. Hands down the nicest 57 Poncho I've ever seen.
"Mustang Bob", yikes! Haven't heard that name since like forever. Is Kens Automotive still around? I use to use them.
Thanks for the picture of the Poncho. Great looking paint. I've been thinking about replacing my old wire wheels on my 57 Olds and I think you just made my decision a little easier. The chrome wheels on the Pontiac look good, I think a set of chrome smoothies would look good on my Olds too. Thanks for sharing!!
I agree!! very badass!! what's the motor your building 389, 421? great color combo and chrome steelies! I saw one just like it at the pontiac national event in ontario with white and teal, this blows it out of the water. (i'm looking for the picture)
Wow! How incredibly beautiful!! I'm gunna have to change my damn color combo on my 55 now.........I don't know how I feel about matching some guy I've never even met.
It's all stripped down for paint. Red pearls and candies..........It's my damn right to worry! Like I was worried how a red Pontiac would look. Killer or streetrod-esque. Groucho just squished that worry for me. Honestly, I'm waiting for you to come back down and start helping me hand sand it.
