West Aussie Hot Rod Spectacular PICS!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Brootal, Oct 28, 2007.

  1. OK. Here's a handful of the 350 or so photos I took!

Let's start off with a bit of a peek at Fred Nilan's AMAZING 5-window. Wow...

The People's Cars were there in force, and it was great to see.

Not really sure what Pete was complaining about???

    Some old Cadillac showed up...

    Hey Charger!

Tony Cro's car had some pretty neat details.

This beat up old hack got People's Choice. Not quite sure how he rigged that one!

    Retro A's... Retro A! :)

Charlie's display. I was wondering why he was walking around ****!

The Clunksters' award winning club display.

    Me and the boy.

    A bit more 'art'.

Just part of the 'Entry Statement'

Joe Italiano's Chevy sedan is a stunning car.

Dun Rooten had a pretty cool display that showed a car from every decade from the 20s through to current day.

Gibby has GOT to find these wheels and tyres and put them back on! :)

  2. Alasdair had a pretty cool display (as always!)

    Nick Korkos's '34.

Sneak_e thought it would be a good idea to leave a bucket of textas and an invite to write on his Kombi. After he reads what I wrote, he may not think it was such a good idea! :)

Brock's Volksrod looks way better with the '35 wires.

Sure is good having a paparazzi lens!

    Big Al:

    rainmaker:

    Nashty:

    Murray in Red?

    For the Holden fans.

The crowd on Sunday around lunch time.

    The Kustard Slice

And since it's the 50th anniversary of the much loved '57 Chevy.

And of course, my pick of the show! ;)

Great pics as usual Boris. Any more of Fred Nilan's car? I gather it's not finished yet with no hoses or belts. Really looks a treat.

  8. Yep, have plenty more pics. :)

Will post some more up when I get home. Working in the city at the moment (in between checking the HAMB, anyway!) :D

Well spotted though Swifty, Fred couldn't quite get the car done, but it's not too far off. Just plugs, hoses, a few screws etc. He doesn't like to rush things. :)

  9. Thanks Brootal!
Looks like some nice stuff going on over there....See you at the Picnic next Weekend...?

    Cheers

  10. Nah, mate. Won't be there this year. Having a piss-up for my 40th birthday on Sat night, so make sure you and the boys have a beer or 40 for me! :)

    Maybe next year, we'll see...

  11. OK, I promise to drink to your B'day this weekend then.
I'll mail you a pressie then too!

PM me your Mail Address, and I'll send one of the Calendars your way !

    Cheers

Thanks for sharing, the building it is held in is incredible

  13. Yeah, it's a pretty good venue, but it looks like they'll probably knock it down in the next few years. Will most likely end up being more hotel rooms or apartments... :(

that building is actually the worlds most expensive tent!
the whole building is pressurised with airlocks at the entry/exits, and the pressure holds up the soft domed roof.

The entry statement started off with a couple of 'fixer uppers' :)

those 2 holdens are interesting, the candy apple 4 door, and the chopped ute.
the red one looks like a 56 chev in front , and a 55 ford in back.
Did these cars have any interchange with the american cars?

  24. X38... always to the point! :)

Like he said, absolutely not one teeny weeny little bit!

They're about 3/4 scale to a Chevy, even though that model was released in '62, they look like a mid-50s car.

  25. Brootal great shots, thanks for the pic's of the kustard slice.
