Have you ever checked out www.tmccc.org . The Texas Muscle Car Club Challenge holds events throughout Texas and a couple in Oklahoma. It's more racing racing like you are talking about.

I've raced in the TMCCC before and it's just your typical bracket racing, except they break it down into classes, so you won't be running someone way faster, or worse yet, way slower.

Yellow Belly been getting better since the 80s...... yes its had a bad rep for a long time for good reason.

If its rented out for the day........... you could be in better control of the atmosphere. I always thought it would be a cool place to do some nostalgia racing.

 

better... how? I raced there back in the early 90's. Lots of drugs,gangs, hores,fights and not a friendly of a part of town after sundown. I always tried to get out of there before dark..

Rumers are floating around about the Hallsville TX drag strip being reworked and re-opened. If you want the atmosphere of 1964, you can't beat that place. If anyone is intersted, I can see what their schedule is.

well kinda, its a unincorporated part of town. The land as I've been told has not been annexed in to the city so no social services i.e. medical or police on property.
