That car looks like it was made by a tweaker while he was tweaking really bad for about a month. I think he was trying to make the car look like it was a actually tweaking if that was possible.

I like the modern grecian. I always thought the grille was a little overdone, and the fins remind me of a butterfly costume.... they would have to go. but I still like it.

that 57 4 dr hardtop however.... Wow what a waste of time money, and a car. that thing wouldn't even make a good parts car!

Too bad about the "modernization" of that buick rikster posted. That restoration looked spot on, and then it gets turned into a gold chainer billet mobile!!!??? what a travesty.

the 57 hardtop from colorodo that some were bagging on(powder blue)... beautiful custom. needs to go back to the gold version with the chrome grille. Or just stop by a plater, and a shiny paint factory.

    Just my 2 cents.

Now the ElMorocco was ugly, but at least it had flair.
This is downright insulting. Even if it's a free country... (=

Outside USofA there are butt-ugly customs too, check this out:

One of the most interesting cars of its time for my money. I was just a kid back then and was a loyal subscriber. The styling pulled from Indy and other open wheel racers with a touch of "atomic age" elan and vague "hot rod" vibe. There are elements that grate on one's aesthetic sensibilities... but losing the fenders and cleaning up some of the choppy nose work would make it just fine.

This car opened my eyes to possibilities beyond a coupe with a 286 Merc or 283.

    looking back, himmelberg

I am sure they are good photos but next time if you want to share images in your email you may want to post them to flicker or photobucket before you try and send us links.... cause I don't think you want everyone have your user name and password to your email... right?!?!

I criticized some POS rides on here once, and nearly got castrated. I was told not to knock anyone else's crap, just because I don't like it. I wasn't supposed to have an opinion on other people's, (IMHO), piss-poor taste.

Man that thing was all sorts of wrong from the front now I have seen the back??

I threw up, thats ugleyer than 6 ugly things stacked on top of each other.

  23. Okay, I don't get why that car is in this thread. About the only thing that's goofy is you could jack it up and eat a picnic lunch off the continental kit filler panel. It would look way better with what looks like maybe 12" taken out of it.

I should take pictures of the magazine spread and post of a custom shoebox done about '60 that doesn't resemble a Ford anymore in the least. Instead it looks more like the dream car they thought up in a series of bad nightmares.

  24. So let's see. I had one of those wagons for a while. That tailgate worked two ways, both as a gate and as a door. Window up, you can't fold the tailgate down. Well looks like that's kind of molded into place. So you have to open it to the side. Oops, there goes the taillight. Do you see a problem here?

I guess it could be worse, years ago in the one junkyard there was about a '71 AMC Ambassador stationwagon someone had tried to make into a pickup. They cut about half the top off, and tried to fold the rest of it 90' behind the front seats, then cut out a window opening in it. The result looked more like an accidental mangling from dropping something on top of it, than something you'd do on purpose.

Note to self: Do not attempt to build a custom car when drunk.

  25. Oh the humanity!!! I love this thread.

  26. Wish I had a picture of this, but about a month after I moved to GA from PA, I saw a mom with her 3 little children in their custom-camouflaged 1994 Plymouth Voyager mini van, complete with gun rack on the inside of the tailgate...

  28. GoodWood,

Sometimes it's a good thing to learn from the mistakes, or even blatant idocy of others :)

  29. Are you pissed because one of the cars in the thread is yours? I bet you just want this to go away... Are you the guy with the flat black batmo-cadillac? Nice 'stach.
