I know its not 'Traditional' but..... Alston Tube Chassis, Full Cage, Blower, Flawless Glass Body....
Good to meet Cranium, Taylor (VW Man) and a few others...whose names escape me! See y'all again next week. Dave
LOL..Dave does not waste time apparently! Yeah, I cruised out in my Rivi...era camper (VW) and checked out things until about 6pm. When the school year's over here, the wife and I will definitely be coming out to check things over and meet folks. I'll see if I can't post some of the pictures I took over this weekend. -Taylor
Finally, what I call the Space Oddity. Not quite sure what it was originally...but it looks pretty atomic age now!
Alot of work went into that last car...looks like a mopar, maybe desoto? listen to me, a gm guy telling what a kustom was once I like it
There was another Chrysler custom that was built earlier. Owned by Inman, and it's on the cover of one of the Southard books. It still had the black lacquer paint when I saw it at the museum show, about early 90's. Could this be the Setzer car? The Chrysler at the cruise in was built in the early 80's by D'Agostino. Here is a pic from the 80's. It went through a couple of owners, was turned into a street rod. The current owner, Sal, just finished restoring it back close to it's original version. When Sal finished the car about a year ago, it also had the fade paint job. But one week after it was on the road, it was hit. The car was repainted without the fade. Sal is still trying to find the right combination of bullets though to make the grill.
My dad lives out there in San Jose I may have to see if he can run one of his mopars out there sometime.
