This auction listing just rolled across our auction editor's desk. Believe it or not, I'm not trying to promote our site or the auction. That said, you really will want to check out all the great old steel that is about to be sold. We are talking roughly 270 cars and bus loads of parts. Right up front the auction company tells you that you may want to bring your chainsaw. Among the vehicles to be offered at auction are a Mitchell touring, a pair of V-12-powered Lincoln Zephyrs, sheet metal from several 32 Ford two-door sedans, what is thought to be a customized Muntz Jet, several Ford Skyliner retractable hardtops, a trio of 57 Thunderbirds, vintage Indian motorcycle, a trio of mid-30s Ford coupes as well as old school buses full of parts including brass radiators, antique headlights, steering wheels and more. There is a pile of photos you can check out. http://www.oldcarsweekly.com/Default.aspx?tabid=520&articleid=8615&articlemid=1519#%231519Articles
http://www.brewerauctionservice.com/11-17-07-Mitchell/11-17-07-Mitchell.asp I just posted a few minutes earlier, "Great tin going to auction in Indiana". November 17th in Mitchell, IN
Wonder if the auction company is going to pull all the stuff out of the woods or will it be the buyer's responsibility?
sorry about that Ironhunter, I should have searched the forum first. Didn't mean to repost. From what we've heard, it will be the buyer's responsibility to bring a chainsaw along and cut your purchase out yourself. The auction bill does state that they will have a forklift there...for a price.
Hey buddy, no problem! I didn't mean anything. The more postings, the more we can get the word out and see this stuff bought by somebody else other than damned scrappers! I just witnessed 200+ cars bought and crushed at a big auction here a few weeks ago, and I'm sick of those greedy bastards crushing this old stuff. They buy it for scrap price, and fully intend to crush it. They'll sell it, but most want 2-3 times what it will bring for scrap. That's bullshit in any language. F**kin greed. Again, glad you posted too! Let's get the word out and keep this stuff out of the crusher!
Yah...even in basketcase condition it still looks cool, don't it? Looks like another Deucy behind it too. Makes me sick I can't go!
I'm going to this! I'm not going to tell you guys what I'm going to bid on, but NOBODY better bid on the ...........
This was posted here about a week ago but I don't remember who. I looked thru all the pictures and some of the stuff is pretty buried. The way it sounded to me was they will have the vehicles removed from the collapsed building but everything else is your problem. You also don't get very long to remove it. Only a couple of days. I wish I coud make it there but money is tight this year. If I was smart i should show up with a bulldozer and charge people to pull the cars out. I still enjoyed seeing the pictures on the auction site.
i think ill bring a bobcat & hire out & ill go home with lots of cash from pulling vehicles outta the bush.
