That's a actually a Plymouth, poor Mopar, ugly to begin with, now uglier still.

And Good Wood, I can post pics of my car tomorrow for you, if you like.

I saw that steaming pile on ebay about 4 months ago. Poor car started out as a Fiat X 1/9 and some idiot put a Toronado drivetrain in it (makes about a 10-90 weight distribution ratio).

He was convinced that he had built the finest car ever and was asking $40,000 starting bid.

Some people should be kept away from the junkpile - far away.

with the front overhang so long, how in the heck does he even get that thing out of a driveway? That Japanese Nissan a ways back was even worse. You spend all this time building the thing and then you realize you can even get it out of your garage. It looks like a parking block and shopping cart magnet as well.

this one is along those lines... but the way to do it right. it doesn't belong here as ugly IMO, but it a good camparo of the mark missed by the others.

looks like what happens when you have a customer calling shots. if they have $, the builder goes 'OK' then laughs with his friends when the customer leaves. been there myself (many times) if you have $ and no taste, i'll still take your money. just don't say that it's my work...please?

yes I agree. I love the Mach 5!!! What kid (who's old enough now) didn't want one. That Nissan and the Fiat were so badly bastardized, that I had to see a car done properly in that genre. It's not a genre you stumble across easily, either I might add. Those two glittering examples of poo were almost enough to curse the whole genre for me.
Kind of like when you eat a really bad sunflower seed, you got to end it was a good one.:)
I just figured, I probably wasn't alone in this and was willing to supply a good final sunflower seed for the rest of you suffering with my ailment.
    Peace

Getting pretty far Off Topic, but I always liked the Fiat X 1/9 Dallara.

  15. LMAO!!!
There used to be a kit for the 914's called the Shalico,or something. Slant-nose,rear flares, and the head area removed like a convertable. Looked pretty cool(for a square VW).

This thread is actually quite constructive to me, believe it or not. Not to mention disgusting, entertaining, mortifying, hilarious and all the other emotions it's been conjuring up. My current project could easily end up on this thread if I am flippant and not too thoughtful about the modifications I plan to make. I'm going to need to keep a reliable assessment of my skills, and while pushing them to improve them, not overshooting them by too far. I plan on completely redoing the mug of my car. I think it's ugly now. I will make sure to think, plan, draw, Photoshop, think some more etc. before committing to anything! Just because you put a lot of work into it doesn't make it cool if the original idea isn't any good. I better be damn sure of my idea!

I totally had one of those!

Mine had a 911 Carrera six with dual triple throat Webbers. That was a real fun car. I worked for Domino's when I had it used to deliver pizza in that car. No one would tip me so I drove the pinto instead.
I think the kit was called a Chalon.
See? That proves my previous point. One of my cars can make it on this thread:eek:

  19. Was it built for Barbara Striessand? It sure has a long nose.

I think that car would look okay if it was shortened and had a chrome grille in it instead of a piece of mesh. Why do all that work and cheap out on the grille?

  20. Back Off Barbera Man!!!! Lol!

  21. More ugly from the darkest reaches of my hard drive...

No. I'm pissed because when I started a thread asking "WTF are people thinking" when they create these types of monstrosities, all I got was preached to about criticizing other peoples cars.

Me too! I had an Al Cosentino "Faza Forza 6" kit for a long time that was based off this but I finally sold it off after I sold my X 1/9s. X 1/9s are some of the most fun cars I've ever had. You have to live in a place with alot of really tight roads to appreciate a car like that though. Still cheap to get a decent one too.

The other loads of fun to drive car I had would have to the the first gen RX7 I had (blew the seals, like everyone else did).
