YEAH, let's do! Check on www.webshots.com and search for coe trucks. It'll keep you busy for a couple of evenings. Some of them have albums of their truck projects. WOW. I just bought an ole '52 GMC f352. She is waiting for my time and money! Bought a '79 Dodge Cut-a-way van 1 ton dually, has a 440 motor with 727*******. Just waiting for me to strip her! heeheeee. That's what I do best. It's gonna get mounted by the GMC! :p ;) perley

anybody have pics of the one that's at Bonneville seemingly every year? If I ever do a COE, I'm doing it about exactly like that.

Also, did Zipp ever finish his?

Here's a couple we spotted for sale in Holbrook, Arizona across from the Wig-Wam Motel back in May of this year...I'd gladly take either one...but was partial to the one on the left!!

I've loved every picture I've seen of that Chev at Bonneville. So much so that I'm in the process of doing up my '46 Ford COE into a 1/2 ton COE longbox pick-up. In the pic below, I've swapped in a 1/2 ton F-1 axle, and reduced the spring pack. With the 235/75s on the front, it dropped down 12 inches. The wheel wells look goofy because the**** end is still riding on 20 leaf springs and 7.20 20s. This weekend I'm hoping to finish splicing on the rear frame from a 87 1/2 ton Chev. They are the same width as the Ford. I'm keeping every thing else stock on the truck(flathead, 4 speed, etc..) because I've been riding in this truck since I was 2 years old on my Grandpa's farm.

The COE's have long been an interest of mine. Especially since there have been so many******in ones built in the last few years. I had a '48 1 ton for awhile and sold it during one of those weak moments when you think you've got too many projects (the silliest notion a man can have). I recently heard that the guy I sold it to hasn't done anything with it and is looking to sell. Can you imagine the euphoria my wife experienced on hearing that news.  (her)............ :D(me)

thank you so much for the clarifying wisdom. I am currently in one of those places where I think I have too many projects. I am weak. I will hold fast and create and complete. No premature selling. Thank you. Thank you.

I tried to post some pics but I still cant get them small enough.I can e-mail some one the pics if they can shrink them to post if anyone is interested.First thanks for the compliments I can`t take credit for building it "but" I own it:) Its chopped and the cab was extented 20+inches.Its on an early 80`s 1 ton chassis with some 3/4 ton stuff in there to.He kicked the chassis up in the back so it sits on air bags with a 4 link set-up.Powered by a Cad 500 with Th-400.Right now it is in the shop STRIPPED,going through it stem to stern.Headers,3" exhaust,Edelbrock carb and intake,Gear Vendors overdrive unit,air-ride Bostrom seats, kick**** stereo dvd, nav,b/up cameras, satt radio,B&M mega shifter. At the end of the day I`m hoping to pull a 24 ft RV and carry our 33 Ford Sedan Delivery through the mountains.Bought it last fall and the few miles we put on it were an absolute blast. thnx brian

I've had lots of them, with my favorite being the Diamond T's (beautiful job, 53chieftan), but now I'm down to 3 Fords. I will take some pictures this weekend, but I won't be home in the daylight until then (I hate winter, too).

  25. The ARDUN heads were made for use in trucks, they were not a 'performance' part you would buy in a speed shop. Well that is until Hot Rodders found them!
Wouldn't be surprised if people did find them on COEs.
    Doc.
