I need some extra space in my T roadster that I am starting and I don't want to channel it. I have looked at most of the T threads on here on the HAMB and haven't found many. Do they just not exist? If you have pics of one or several please post 'em up.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Codeman,

Check out 37kid's new post on his Morton & Brett body- that certainly won't get channeled :D !

Seriously, though- what do you mean by extra room? If it's a height issue (I'm 6'6"), it's gonna be tough to squeeze extra room out of a T anyway- you might want to look into modifying the seat to get down and back some.

There should be plenty of T's out there that aren't channeled- if I find any pics, will send them your way.

  3. Here are three that I had saved- two pretty traditional, and one nicely lowered to the ground...

T roadsters look great up on top of 32 rails, search again, there are quite a few of them on here

Thats my plan to go down and back. I mean I can sit in it right now and be in it, not hovering above it. I realize leg room isn't going to be plentiful but not having the frame in the body will help. I like this one.

I moved the rear bulkhead back 6" in mine as well as adding a 3" footwell in the firewall. I'm 6' tall and quite comfortable in the car, straight legged.

In the old old old days the bodies were rarely channeled. A belly "pan" of sorts was run under the frame between the front and rear wheels which visually lowered the car.
On a modern T roadster the visual "fool the eye" tricks can still be used. Mount the body on top of the frame, make up or use stock late car(I'm going to use Falcon reproduction rocker panels) to cover the frame, thus extending the body down and giving the illusion of low.
My friend has a Track Car(nose, hood, turtle deck) which looks much much lower than my T roadster pickup. We measured the height of the back wall of the body from the ground...the difference was just 3/4".

    Thats nice.

  10. [IMG] This body was channeled 3" when I bought it and it was raised back to stock but there is just not enough room. It would be better if I went to an auto trans but I want to try to keep it period correct. If I were to build another I would use the Brookville extended 30 RPU body. When the car is sitting empty it has the line but sometimes it looks odd or maybe even silly with tall people in it This may not be what you want to see but when I see modified I think of lake modified's.

All of em channeled? Naw. Mine is settin on a 32 frame and widened the body 3 1/2" at the cowl to make it fit. But I gotta ask about the ***le... "T roaster" is that like a Kenny Rogers roaster, only different? LOL Here is my 26.

Ok Mr. English teacher, I fixed it, dang spell checker missed it. LOL :p

    Nice roadster by the way.

  13. Ever thought about stretching the area behind the door?
There was a company advertised in Northern/Southern Rodder that had a fibergl*** T roadster that was stretched and looked GOOD- they were going to do a buildup, but it never came to fruition. Wish I could remember who it was.

    Anybody else remember it???

I don't really want to stretch it any. I have a buddy that said that is what we should do. I'm a big guy but I don't want to chance it looking goofy in the end either.

I found this thread too. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=210134
No matter how much you search you still miss some.

Drool....................... (50Fraud I love you roadster and stole your pic)

There is just so little room in a T roadster. Its hard to see how anyone fits when they are chanelled. Mine sits on top of the frame.

Go to Keith Tardel's site and look at the Wahling 27.
    It's the gold standard.
Run a search, it's been posted before from every angle.

There was one built in Rodder's Digest (I think) that had the crossmembers at the bottom of the frame rails, which gave some more room.
