I rather throw some money a hamber's way then letting a big transport company dock me for a non-driver.

    If intrested, let me know.....Thanks

I am from madera CA actually inbetween the two, eleven miles away. Where is this car sitting? I have a buddy who might be interested, but he probably would like to go see how involved it could become.

  5. What kind of car? Disc's or drum's?

It's a little too far away for me right now, but the make and model might help someone decide if they're familiar with the set-up

61 Stude car, drum brakes. Just uses the standard Bendix-Lockheed brakes of the 50's and 60's.

I have new shoes, new wheel cyls, hardware kits, hoses sitting here for another project that never happened. I can send those along along with any other parts and a shop manual and a rear hub puller if needed. I am a stude freak and could do it in my sleep, but it's 2300 miles from me :(

It actually is in Fresno, sitting in my fellow car club member's backyard.

Some people are not mechanically inclined or have the time to do so, yes the thought occurred to me too.

Just a thought, but you can usually score plane tickets for $300-$400 roundtrip on line. Then you pack your brake parts with your luggage. By the time you figure shipping the parts, paying someone for their time, and actually trusting them without REALLY knowing them or what they're capable of, you could probably fly out here and do it yourself for another $50... ***uming your car club buddy will let you crash on his couch.

Just looked on travelocity and you can fly Northwest, round trip from Detroit to Fresno for $350. Which includes all taxes and fees.

Not sure where you are in MI, or where you'd stay or eat out here, but throught I'd throw it out there as an option if no one else steps up to help with the work.

I just arbitrarily picked dates 1 month from today and figured you'd stay 3 days.

If you played your cards right, you could probably fly cheaper than that. And you could plan to come out for some other car-related stuff. Like the TUrlock Swap meet at the end of January... It ain't Hawaii, but my guess is that weather in Fresno/Turlock is better than Michigan at the end of January. Even if only slightly...

You know that's a great idea! I could do that or grayhound if I'm really feeling cheap.

Wonder what it would be like describing to a homeland security guy.... "Yes officer, those blunt heavy metal items are called cast iron wheel and master cylinders".

Oh, BTW, I am in the rural part of michigan, 3 hours NW of Detroit or one hour north of Grand Rapids.

I would also just fly out and do it yourself. That way you would know that the car ran and stopped when it came to get it loaded.I would also help you out,But Fresno is about a 4 hour drive from here if I recall.

If you have to catch a really early morning flight outta Detroit you can crash here at my place the night before. I've got a nice guestroom and am only 10-15 minutes from NWA's new terminal.
