im in a shitty situation myself ( could be worse though) no garage, no heat. anyone ever use one of those fully enclosed car "tents". was thinkin about gettin one and using a portable heater. its better then doing nothing and getting nothing done.

Everything that needs to get done to my car happens in the winter.
Rochester weather really sucks, mostly the freezing rain that comes down sideways, I really hate that and the cold. I have a propane heater in my garage which heats up real fast. Looking foreward to putting a crossram set up on my 66 Nova within the next few weeks. And when the weather really gets shitty I just go to Florida. Someday Ill move there for good.

USed to (before my own shop) but what I would do is rebuild or refresh my engine of my 56 in the home garage- that way I had something to work on during the winter.

I actually had one of those tents for a while- the do work well- I reimforced it with wood doors and used a propane heater to stay warm (not if I was doing anything flammabble of course)
    worked well.

Winters are long in Minnesota, so I got a lot of time to fuss around with toys in the basement workshop. Problem is I spend too much money on this kind of shat instead of saving up for the hot rod project.
Here is the latest KOOLERKART, needs finishing...

    Hey Frozen:

Can I order that in 4 wheel drive? Yesterday was 60 degrees in Buffalo. Not bad for mid November. Now, I have a garage heater ordered. The only problem on wrenching my rod over the winter is that I dont know what the #$%@ I am doing.

I will keep you all posted. Her is where I am right. now

I have to agree with some of the others. Winter is a time for building and rebuilding. I do have a heated garage, too small, but heated nonetheless. When it is snowing and blowing outside it is the time I spend in the garage. When it is warm and sunny,I certainly dont want to be wrenching in the garage.too many other things to do in good weather.:) As we speak they are forecasting 4 to 7 inches of snow for tonight and tomorrow.Looks like a garage weekend.

One of the biggest and best swap meets on the planet will be at the Turkey Run in Daytona Thanksgiving weekend. Get your butt on a plan and fly to Orlando then rent a car and drive to Daytona. Once there have fun and say hello to all my lucky ass friends and relatives who live down there!!!:D

After you get back to Buffalo you can begin to worry about the 28 feet of lake affect snow you're going to get between now and Spring. :D

Bowling, cards, watching the boob tube, indoor pistol, snowmobiling, skiing, etc. are all fun ways to occupy your winter, but theres nothing like that first test drive in the spring after building all winter. What a rush!

    Amen to that, brother.
7 weeks of winter are almost too many.
