A drag race that went down somewhere in Texas this weekend. I'll let Casey tell the story in the replies......

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
Hey Collin.....it was the "First one to the Fence!!!!" ......you LOST .....HAHAHAHAHAHA Now I don't want to hear any excuses as to hitting the brakes before the fence......that will make you sound like a Professional Bracket Racer......hahahahahaha(dang, you might not talk to me after using those words in a sentence with your name ) For those of you who didn't make it.....WE HAD FUN!!! Thanks to Roger for hosting us Pol for setting it up Collin and others for promoting it and thanks to all that made it, even though the weather was iffy Skotzzz
that`s just way to much fun ! If you listen closely you can hear Slick Willie screaming like a girl in the passenger seat ! kinda sounded like a blower wine ? thank`s to "Thunderbeast "for the great video! and I`m Honored to have made it onto the JolopyJournal Ryan.
Oh Yea, I had Mercury Charlie in the plane with me and he had his pockets full of "mercury" so we were weighted down more than usual .......Just wait till next year to see what tricks the Aeroplane Racers will try to put you in the dust......har har har Skot
After reviewing the video it appears the racer in the right lane lifted well before the fence! GREAT FUN!!!!!
good try? trying to catch up fly boy ! I`m going to say I won ! I let off to turn left , before you turned up. at the last minute. we might need to start a poll on here ? I bet you can still taste the dust in your mouth! hahahaha thank`s to pol & roger ! for allowing me to get some more victory doughnuts in. Mmmmmmm victory doughnuts
You may have won the race, but you put yo'self right in front of his machinegun sights... BTW, that was super cool...vintage planes rock.
You know it's in Texas when neither vehicle is on pavement! Looks like funs guys, wish I could have some time up close and personal with an old plane.
Its a 680 cu in Lycoming, but a "Hot Rod" one with 300 hp with a constant speed prop. Stock they were 225 hp.....and yes it is a Stearman Kadet...1942 vintage(just 10 years newer than my car ) Ya shouda been there.....and just wait till next year.....hahahaha Skot
Awesome video! Isn't that sorta how they came up with the quarter mile? racing a quarter horse? You guys might be on to a new sport or something! haha
Hummm, I'm glad that you corrected yourself or next year would prove "real interesting" ......hahahaha.....rat tat tat tat....I can hear it now . Skot
Hummmm, we have BOTH been called Both names(as well as a couple of others???) .....I wonder why it keeps coming up, this IS NORMAL for US.....hahahaha Skot
Hell! I didn't realize the sound was on and high on this damned computer... I may be checking in tomorrow from a computer in the public library instead of the job...
Hey,I recognize that yeller 5 window! I know your lurking Tim, tell us the rest of the story. Looks like a blast. My neighbor hosted a plane/car /boat deal a couple weekends ago and I've already spoke to them about making it a little HAMB friendlier next year. Bunch of whine and cheese trophy whores on the car side but out in the lake Kermit was towing a waterskier around behind this... And I was thinking since you all always seem to be racing something at this event ,might I suggest a race to altitude in a couple of these rigs. Just give each competitor a bb gun to slow the others ascent and try to keep them out of the stratosphere...
