A visit with Rob this afternoon.

As Matt mentioned Rob is still in a lot of pain, but I too got a very warm and healthy hand shake. I mentioned to him (betweeen his in and out of morphine) of how many people from here on the H.A.M.B. have sent their prayers for his recovery. Believe me everyone, Rob really, really appreciates everyones prayers.

His dad came in and also wished to say thank-you to all of you who have offered up the prayers and well wishes for Rob's recovery.

Jane, his wife was finially able to go home for a hour or two, after being up with him since midnight. Since he has been moved, she is able to sleep in his room next to him.

Dick, aka Xderelict, one of his best friends has come through as only a best friend can. He has kept us all informed of Rob's condition, and has been with him and the family as much as possible.

To Dick...I humbly take my hat off to you.:)

Ryan...Rob received the package you sent.:)

HotRodLadyCruiser....Rob asked if you were right behind me. He thought you might also pop in for a suprise visit again, and was bringing some cookies.:) He is already mentioning how he would like to be able to come to Detroit Autorama this coming spring.

Rob has still got quite a rough road ahead towards recovery, but....He is a TURD. And this TURD will rise to the top again. (That's South Omaha TURD for you folks who don't know.)

For all who can possibly attend, the Rumble for Rob this Saturday night, well..you know, this would be one of the best fund raising causes the H.A.M.B'ers could possibly do for one of our best..

thanks for the updates dick. glad to hear things are moving along at the hospital. i have been getting some pm's about people wanting to send things for the auction. it is so cool to see the support. we are getting things sent from all over. michigan and new york and people are bringing things up from as far away as austin texas. jeff at karls kustoms made up some goodies to hand out this saturday to the folks making donations. remember, this saturday is a show we had booked already and will be raising what we can BUT the auction will be on DEC 29TH at another show so you still have plenty of time to get stuff in the mail if you want to help out.
    thanks!!!!
    see you saturday!!!

His lungs are needing some serious rehab, as well as bruised organs, kidneys, liver, heart, and all ribs broken on the side of impact. His color was great and he was very chipper for the cirumstances. Really some constant pain, they took him off morphine today and he was relieved to be able to be more aware and not so doped up. He showed me his zipper scar, top to bottom of his chest, he is able to have water now but has had no solid food since Monday. He totally amazed me with his toughness, most of us couldn't have hung so damn strong. This is the first hospital stay ever for Rob and the first medical stuff he has ever experienced. So a lot of it is a learning process, some very xellent staff people have helped him a great deal. Nice improvement but a lot of complications to overcome yet. We will all keep you posted.-Sololobo/Roadburners

Well as I'm sure you know this isn't Rob, it's me Jane.I'm home for a shower and change of clothes. We wanted to tell you how much your prayers and thoughts meen to our family. Rob always knew he had good friends, but the out pouring of support comming from all of you is overwwlming. He is doing better today. They removed a very important tube today...he can stand & do his business!!! They also took him off the morphine and put him on perckicet. That makes him alot easier to talk to, he is handling the pain alot better. As Dick said hes broken up pretty bad.All the ribs on the left as well as some on the right. That maks takin breaths kinda hard. Were still watchin some of the vital organs, but so far things are going good. He's getting stronger every minute.Well I'm typed out and I've gotta get back.So once again THANKS TO ALL OF YOU !!! Your support helps along with all the prayers.

Wow, thanks Jane! That's great news. I broke just a few ribs (and a leg, and some toes, and a clavicle) in a bike accident seven years ago and I recall that it thoroughly SUCKED. The good news is that it all healed completely other than a rotator cuff that I can definitely live with. I'm hoping this is just an equal bump in the road so to speak. I'll continue to keep you both in prayer that you both get the rest you need and get back to normal soon. Thanks for the update!

I stoped by to see Rob today, he is doing alot better. He is really looking foreward to getting better. Looks like he is in good hands with Jane and all the hospital staff behind him. Get this, he is really torn up / beat up an he tells the nurses that they have go eat lunch, they have spent too much time worring about him. Damn , he is worried about the nurses in the shape he is in.

    See you guys sat night.

  18. Good to hear from you Jane... keep us posted...!

  19. Just got home from visiting Rob....he's alert and talkative....in good spirits too. He showed me the incision they made to put him all back together....it runs right down his middle from between his nipples to right above his public hair with a little detour around his belly button. He's in a lot of pain but will most probably make a good recovery..
He has enough tubing and electronics to resemble a 350 HP shot of nitrous' plumbing. He was glad to have company but it was a struggle for him to breathe deep enough to speak....I stayed 10-15 minutes and left. Broken ribs make it tough to take a breath and I didn't want him to suffer pain just to talk to me.

  20. Thanks for the updates. Get well Rob.

Again, our thoughts and prayers are with you, Rob & Jane. I was hoping to get up there to see ya today, now that I'm back in town, but I'll shoot for tomorrow. I hope today and tonight, as well as the days following, will go better for you on your road to recovery.
