Scoob, take that dorky late model front bumper off and improve the looks at least 2-3 %. Actually this is probably heavier than the glass buckets runnin around but with a bigger degree of kool.

I guess you'll have your hands full for awhile. I like it, like it a lot. And speaking of my favorite two things, a beer in my left and a woman in my right hand.

Two things I have owned many of! Just never in one spot at the same time. Power to weight ratio all the way! I think it's cool and it has a bunch of cool old goodies. Anyone who talks smack, tell them to bring their ride out and settle it! :D

  14. Hmm... I might know of a place that would dig following this buildup. :D

Very cool project, Unclescoob. I checked out your other thread showing some of your other cars... VERY impressive.

Looking forward to seeing this come about!

That's pretty cool but your car has a cameltoe. You better take care of that...

Thought this might be an inspiration to get some real belts. This thing was a blast to watch, although a late model plastic turd.
    Any progress on the beast?

After some serious thought ( which was very little brain cells) we have added Scoobys car to the "Bubbas Garage " wed evening hit list.
he goal is the Road Rockets Car Club 3rd Annual Motorama 1962 car show to be held at the Indianapolis fairgrounds in conjunction with the Indy High Winders World of Wheels car show.
Our mission is to be doing burnouts in this thing before the week of Feb 8-9-10 ( the show date).
All Indy hambers that have nothing to do are welcome to come over each wed evening and jump in! The car needs assembles , disassembled , painted and lets make it happen!!!!!
I am going over to Scoobys tomorrow morning to check out the damage and put the plan together !!!!
    news at 11 ????:)

We used to run a bug called "White Lightning" on the strip back in the day when i worked at a VW race shop. Wonder what happened to that car ? (it was a mean normally aspirated 11 second car)

I like VWs too... I got into them as a teen as a way of protesting against my American hot rod family members :-D I've still got some goodies hidden away (BRMs, Okrasa 82mm crank, Fumio Fukai heads, an old Mag) and own a stock '66 Karmann Ghia.

Yeah, I don't see any pussy OR Jack Daniel's.

    Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over?

I do have to admit, that it's kinda cool that some dude would put that much effort into a VW bug though. You know, in a weird masochistic kinda way. ;)

That car is great!!! I was stationed in great lakes back in the 70's and I bought a 59 VW with a tube frame and a 401 Buick motor in it, it had the THING painted on the side. Crazy and fast as hell. It got stolen and I got transfered, OH well, I still have the title for it, in the cylinders section it says "8". The DMV thought it was a misprint!Have Fun!
