HAMB auctions, were you satisfied?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by roadstar, Dec 5, 2007.

  1. Let me first say thanks to Myke for offering up an exceptional set of finned aluminum valve covers that I won last week. They were much nicer than I was expecting, the discription stated some minor corrosion but I needed a set of early smallblock with the staggerd bolt pattern and figured hell I'm gonna take a chance and support the HAMB as well.

They are near perfect and will clean up beautiful or polish out perfect if I were to go that route. I coudn't be happier with my purchase and the feeling I get supporting the HAMB, I almost feel guilty, but I'll get over it:D

This leads me to my question. Have those of you that have purchased items from the auctions been happy with the items.

I have seen a few people get caught up and pay very generous amounts for art work and other items obviously more intent on the support of the HAMB that worring about snaging a deal.

I know Ryan appreciates the auctions very much and it really helps him make this place better for all of us.

Just figured I would see how some other people felt.

always have been... I've paid way to much for shirts, hats, posters, and stuff... always been happy about what I got and being able to support the HAMB.

  3. I bid, but I never win. Somebody with deeper pockets than me always winds up with the goodies...

I will never ask for an auction... and never have... They are very much appreciated, but not at all necessary.

I was completely satisfied with Denise's big box of chocolate chip cookies from the "Tito" auction.
They were delicious, my only complaint would be after inhaling the whole box of cookies, I still wanted MORE.

    :D

  7. One minor hiccup on an auction years ago, thats fine, the money went to a good cause. On the OTHER hand, I am so pissed that I paid $140 for TRJ #7;) ..............wait, I was pissed when I thought I lost that one in the flood, then found it later............nevermind. The only auction I am pissed about it the shift knob Guisart did for me to auction off before the drags in 05. Grasshopper won it, I really wanted to keep it for myself when Greg sent it back to me:eek: !

  8. I enjoyed giving stuff up for auction to raise money for the HAMB... fundraisers in general.

The HAMB motor Meltdown was a blast...

Auctioning off the Coon tail and other parts off of the Roach Rod was fun too.

I got something I want to auction off next... should be cool.

    Sam.

I have WON a couple of times ... have always been happy ... even when I know the winning bid amount always exceeded the actual value of the item being auctioned ... Because the HAMB was the real winner :D

The identical set of finned covers I stole from Rat Bastad have the same casting marks inside *40-1000*.....but mine also say Cal Customs. I believe the ones you won are as well.

    Good score ol man.:D

I love HAMB auctions, they clear out space under my bed. Leaves more room for bodies.:D
