There are none! If you don't run the duce grill then why have a 32?

I have a 32 grille on my 33, but I don't think I would run anything other than a stocker on a deuce.

uhhhhhh send me your 32 grill and i will send you a edsel grill.....:D

  5. If it was a lakes car you could go tracknose, but for a drag car, I would do a 32 SHELL, no rad, puke tank etc...........think Roots DragNFly only a 32

Im just tryin to think outa the box here. Im goin for total drag race influence. i might just do a 32 shell with an aluminum sheet insert like the orange crate, but I am lookin for anyone with a different thought.

  7. That thing screams 60s! Look at old altereds like Nanook and others, either cutdown grill SHELL only or a small Aluminum water tank welded up in the shape of a shell (many were Ts but a short 32 version would be cool)

Two '40 hoods with a narrow oval cut out of the front and the top half of a motorcycle tank hiding the carburetors.

This is the 1st thing i thought of too!!...That was my favorite tech post...

I'm trying to play with the 40' Ford hood look myself on my Model A but i just cant make up my mind on what direction i want to go...I'm up in the air with the whole dry lakes look or 60's hot rod which i think with the torsion bar suspension in the front i'm better off doing the lakes look..

Eh... I'm going to disagree. It could easily be done correctly. The Pierson Coupe/Tom Thumb special and the SoCal/Travis Coupe raced mostly unchanged from the early 50's all the way to the 90's.

Might not be "perfect 60's style", but it could be right.

Do you want Better, or just Different?

I've never seen an alternative deuce grille insert that looked better than the stock one. In my view, horizontal bars, billet vertical bars, spider webs, perforated metal -- some have looked OK, but none have looked better.

I liked the wire mesh in the deuce shell on Grabowski's T, but I don't know about a full-height grille full of it.

If you're mostly interested in Different, then the aluminum insert with round holes or vertical slots would have a similar feel to other details on your car, and could look pretty nice.

I know what you are saying. My thoughts exactly, but I really trying to do a 32 in a unique way without ruining the car.

I remember seeing a 32, 33 or 34 Ford coupe running a Desoto grill and liking it.

38-39 Ford Truck grill, ( with all the bars of course,)

  23. Jim,,,after all these years of the Deuce being hot rodded and raced if it could be done it would have been done,,

And had it been done and was a hit they would be a lotta magazine coverage.

It's probably impossible to come up with anything more pleasing to the eye than the original grill,,,,,hey,,thats just my opinion,,,HRP

Here is our '33 grill with an aluminum insert that we did - a little tricky on a '33 as it curves out at the bottom...

I think no grill shell or radiator is a very cool drag look.

Like Littleman did on his A coupe.

A front mounted Moon or Eelco tank and that's it.
Of course if it's a driver you would have to mount the radiator in the back like Littleman did.
