You're a good son for claiming kinship with this man.

As far as the portable outhouse goes ... I might pay $1,600 bucks if the rims were painted red.;)

  21. That's fuckin sad! Why would someone ruin a Merc like that? At least you can take the front off and put Merc stuff back on it.

Remember this one?At least the menstrual nightmare above was done within the parameters of horrible midwestern traditionalism ala Jack GFlorence on some of his wilder efforts. However when Jack chose to go the mild route he was killer.Say,do I have any pics of his chopped candy red 46 merc with the 82 Monte Carlo front?

The rich tradition in these pieces of crap from the past, puts perfectly into perspective some of what can be found being built today.Must be a recessive genetic disorder and not an aquired condition. Thanks Nads,I didn't understand until now.

  25. Any body remember the Merc with the Riviera roof? That's another abortion!!!
    Round car...square roof...sure,that i'll look great! NOT!

    Oh I do.
Theres a guy named Dewitt Powell from Va who used a 67 Ford station wagon roof on a 51 Merc coupe. It was candy red and silver with big blue curly graphics on it.He built that after he had a chopped 51 merc with a 75 Camaro back window in it.I have pics of about 100 of em that would make you want to shoot up.

  27. When I was a kid, there were these series of books in the Library that all had different subjects:Slot Cars,Mini-bikes,Custom Cars,Motorcycles,Drag Racing, etc. I know some of you guys remember these. I'll see if I can find mine. Anyways,on the cover of the Custom Cars one was a Merc with Gull-wing doors. I'll post a pick. Hang on...

I bet if you took a hammer to the rear quarters you could knock off all the bondo and fiberglass and bolt in the original tail lights.

  29. Sorry,I was incorrect. No Gull-wing doors. But i'll post the books just cause I found them. I've had these since I was 9yrs old. I've been looking for the rest of the series.
