I've been tryin to track one down for awhile now but nobody around town seems to have one or know where any are...there like old V- style opening tackle boxes i thank or they may have been tool boxes, but one of my granddad's friends use to have one but left it at a car show a couple of years ago so i'm tryin to hunt one down...any body kno where to get em'??? They look like this...
Mine has the letters "DWC" embossed in large letters on both lid sides. I don't know what that stands for. It has my grandfathers model A tools in it, so I'd guess it's from the '30s, maybe 40's. Tom

yeah thanks for the help ya'll... I looked on ebay but they don't have what i need.. i need like an older one thats been around the block before... I found this one but i don't thank it'll be deep enough to hold paint and reducer in the bottem...
i have a steel one almost EXACTLY like the green above! it opens in a V with two tray layers on either side with a deep bottom. mine has little casters and a pull rope too...and stamped steel tag with the previous owner's name and address. i bought it at the swap meet - i was prepared to take a beating on price, but was able to get it for $10. i'll try to get a manufacturer off of it in the next few days.

I've got an old one, it's pretty big too. Beloned to the rescue squad I belong to and I saved it from the dumpster. No pics though. Might be willing to trade something.
From looking at the pics, it is probably very close to the size and design of the brown one shown above.

I use a HF machinist's chest for my striping box. The top holds about 20± 1/4 pint cans of 1Shot. 6 small drawers + 2 large drawers for brushes and all sorts of other accumulated crap. I'm happy with mine.
The second box at the top looks like an old Proto box that I have in my studio. It would be large enough to throw some One-Shot cans in the bottom. Mine came from a garage sale.
Old suitcases are pretty cool too, some of the Vanity cases for women can be pretty big and have the pull out trays!
You have'nt turn that pattern on the side into a flying eyeball yet?!? Or is that just TOO obviouse and easy and you want something different?
I've got a Make Up case,that is the perfect size for holding quart cans of Reducer,degreaser,etc. Used to be common,as part of luggage sets. Watch your local Goodwill or Salvation Army type stores,around $5.00
Those Kennedy boxes are big and heavy. American steel. Fill them with paint,and they are difficult to move. Two smaller boxes might be a better idea.
You are absolutely correct...they are heavy...even empty. The box I'm using now is similar to the one Raaf just posted...minus the wheels and bitchin lock. that's pretty neat.
The brand name wooden boxes are serious money. Well made,priced accordingly. The Horrible Freight particle board knock offs are less than $100.
naw, id say its more like a saloon than a makeup case. i have an oldddd craftsman tool box that my great grandfather gave me. he kept his tools in it and kept it in his model a. its a center peice in my room now, close to heart. he also gave me his old bottle and wheel type pin stripper. and some old sockets and wrenches, whatever he had left.
Thats pretty cool i never got to meat my great grandfather he died along time ago...but he left my granddad a 41 ford p/u that he bought new the same week he died...i bet he had all kinds of cool stuff like that....
