They only guy who can rile this group up more than Ian Roussel is Boyd...

They'll both probably be revered by kids 40 years from now for being innovators or something like that.

So did this start as "She ****s" or was that the previous car? Oh, and Kirk, I'd drive that Flower car to work every day but I'd put a big block in it so I could pull the front wheels from the stoplight:cool:.

Well, I think that if most of you with the exception of "Captain Kirk" (obviously does not like this guy) would have said that it was OK if you would have only seen it with the top off. The front grill is kinda cool, The headlights are different but they are not as ugly as twin lights mounted at an angle. All I am saying is to lighten up, there were alot uglier cars built in the 50s and 60s that people like just because of who built them.

As for the name I think it has something to do with the 2 birds that are ghost painted on the hood.

That thing is a pile of ****. Someone needs to take his tools away...

The only thing worse than it, is whoever shoots their movies. Apparenlty she didn't swallow it all... looks like most of it got all over the camera lens.

Why can't these people go back to being cutters, or goths... or whatever they were into a year ago?

All of that stuff ends up looking like a cartoon character, because he has no idea how to build a tasteful car. It's only value is shock value, which isn't worth that much.

When did I even remotely imply that I don't like the guy? I've never met him, so how could I not like him?

Just because ugly cars were built in history doesn't make ugly cars built now cool. I don't like most of (George) Barris' or Roth's cars, and I will never say that the ugly ones they built are cool just because they built them.

I'm not into shock value. It's much harder to get people to notice your ride for it's subtlety and true cool. That makes for a truly cl***ic ride.

Ugly is ugly, and that's ugly.

It's all just opinions. People can build whatever the hell they want, but they shouldn't be offended when they "push the envelope" and people don't like it.

Aperrently no one on this board has ever had the chance to see all of his cars, OR actually work on one he haS built.

I have and i dont care what ANY of you say, His quality of work is as ****ty as they look.

I been there, Seen it first hand & saw what its all about...

Any GOOD painter could mud up a Turd & lay on some nice paint & i am sure thats what we are looking at here.

But on a Positive note, I have spoke with Ian & he is a nice guy !

And this isn't directed at you either, but I think it's wierd that you can't not like a car without it being construed as a personal attack on the builder. I don't know the guy - but I don't like that car no matter how well built. And we should all be big kids and not care. Personally I think labeling your own stuff art opens it up to way more criticism. The really good stuff gets that label from it's audience.

I'll say the same thing I said on that thread about lil' John's aluminum roadster. It's like telling me I have to like rollerblading because the guy doing it is really good. I've heard a few things that were said about the modified/roadster I built. But I'm not losing sleep.

Nah, check the ugly custom thread, he's the winner of it. Also, his videos are $5 at Wal-Mart in the discount bin so I bet lots of people know who he is. I have a video of him making stuff out of his steel toed boots to weld on the cars (no, I did not make that up).

This car is not my style either, but if You see in the video "Back from the dead", what he does, if he has no matching steering wheel, then thats hotroddin for me: He builds one of his own with what he has......steel tubing!

    But

After Seeing Those Other Two Cars And Watching A Video With Some Dude Named Big Swag And Barris, All I Can Say Is:

You Would Have To Try So ****ing Hard To Make A Group Of Cars So Lacking In Style And Good Taste.

ok not going out on a limb and saying the car is great.but what i seem to be reading is it dosent belong here.
he builds his car.he used mostly pre 65 parts or fabricated them.
so what makes it non traditional? dose it have to have been done before to be traditional. i guess i'm just saying can you try something new and still be traditional or do you have to build a clone?

That car is a perfect example of what is slowly distroying this hobby. It's not created with the p***ion for the style or the era, or the idea of preserving the history of hot rodding, and the past... it was made to shock the car loving m***es. Sell them RAT RODZ toys, dvds, and ol skool rebel ****box magazines.

Anyone see that 88 jeep cherokee in rebel rodz? No hood, fenders... straight axle and extended frame?? You can buy that at damn near any parts store in america, mind you.

Rat Rodz sell, guys. Jeeps are way easier to find than Model A's. But if your gl***es are dirty, and you squint a little bit, they're basically the same thing. You know... a car, with four wheels and an engine. And hell, if it doesn't need to be finished, or even well crafted... then ANYONE can get in on it. Building a piece of **** is easy. All you have to do is cut it apart, weld most of it back together, flat black it and then PRESTO! You're the ***** that bothers me at every car show I go to.

And that's the problem. Most people dont understand what a truely beautiful custom car, or hot rod is... and they are incapable of distinguishing one from the other. Which then creates a bad name for the people who are capable of building a truely well planned car...

You can also thank these yokels for the high prices of model a bodies.... just look at how high prices have gotten in the past three years.

Every time you pat a rat rodder on the back for doing his thing, you're inadvertently distroying one more old car
