History Drag cars in motion.......picture thread.

Hemi35......The 56 had 327,Muncie 4spd, Dana 60 4.10 posi. It was 2nd stab of gas at 10mph.

 

AHHHH, that clears things up. It didn't make sense the obvious way on an untreated surface. It made for a great picture though

 

Whew... I got this far. What a load of history... emotional at times.

Hell of a catch!!!

 

I owned Oddys car after he sold it, I put it on the street back in 1976, it then went up to canada and the rollcage and interior were removed and thrown away, fast forward 25 years and John Cassiol from Buffalo found it and brought it back to western NY
he is restoring it back the the way Oddy raced it in the 60's.

The fastback Nova was a project by Bill Thomas of Cheetah sports car fame. It was an attempt to make the Nova a little more aerodynamic for road racing but it seems that most of the conversions ended up on drag cars.

I know crazy Johnny and he loves that car, he searched for that car for many years. He is restoring it back to it's fomer glory trying to be exact in every detail. He is looking for all the pictures and info he can get on it.

 

How many of those nova's do you think are the same car just repainted. I really dig them (looks like a marlin or chys roof).. it is also a contract between the yellow (down low) and the red (done high) but both around the same time I am guessing
