I run LED clusters on my bikes and will run them on the 63 econo too. Tradition means **** to tailgaters! You can get clusters to fit in most of your OG light fixtures. My advice is stay away from the replacement bulbs that fit your stock socket.

  2. If ya can't see my brake lights, I can't get pissed at you if you run into my ***.
I don't care how they look, they work GREAT.

The replacement LED cards for the stock Model A tail lights & the LED 3rd brake light are form Lambert Enterprises.

  3. How in the world did cars work for 70 years without disk brakes and LED lights? Must have rear-ended each other at every stoplight. Sarcasm of course.

Led Lights are also great for under the dash night light or in the trunk lights ,they don't require as good a ground. Oh yea the white ones ,not the check me out blue ones!

i don't have any trouble seeing most of the original lights, seems to me i you've got a new bulb and proper wiring you souldn't really have a problem. but if for some reason the lights arn't bright enough why not, i'd rather drive my rig with a set of led's than leave it parked.

Alot of good points here and no *****ing and bickering.... wow! maybe its just the holiday spirit.

  11. Here is a tip I mentioned before, if you run regular bulbs, paint the inside of the housing WHITE! It has been proven to have more reflectivity than any color including silver. My 54 and old T both had this done and they are about as bright as LEDS, WAYYY brighter than stock.

I say run whatever you want. The more important question is why ask if there acceptible to people on this board. The fact is the traditional nazis wont like them and nothing will change there mind.Point is if they look good to you ,run em and **** what anyone else think's.GREGG

The cons that I see with LED'S are that they look like "Lite Brites" when they are on and, even when they are off u can see them thru the lens sometimes.

The Pro is that they are nice and bright and draw very little amps/volts.

If you blow by some guy in a race, do you think he's going to thinking, "DAMN! That guy had LED's!" ?

If I think they may be safer to use, I'll use 'em.

I did that trick on a friend's car. I can't believe I forgot about it. I'll have to remember it, when I put my new tail lights on.

Not a prob man, just good info...

I know LED's are not for everyone, and I really have mixed feelings about them, and I know there are alternatives. But at the end of the day, taillights need to be seen and we have expirienced taillights that you could not see very well and hopefully we can remedy that

For the time and money I am putting into my two trucks they both will be running LED taillights, Third brake lights , and siginal lights.
And the both have 3 point seat belts, Disc brakes, Dual master cyl, Radial ties, ect.
My wife and my safety comes before traditional ?????

  28. I've been driving for 25 years, never had LEDs(How long have they been OEM anyway, a few years?)and I've never had anyone tell me they can't see my brakelights. I spent the last year commuting 130 mi per day, Houston traffic, in the dark, in a 20 year old car, never rear ended.

  29. I don't think we are talking about lights for a 1985 model whatever. No issue at all with late model O/T vehicles.

I believe the issue is for way older cars that had poor reflective qualities built into the tail lights.
