That is not a Chevy. To Nice to have been factory installed on a Chevy From that era. I would say something a little more top end. Maybe a Chrysler.The Chevy's would have been comparable to the Model A's and they didn't have anything this detailed.

 

I looked at multiple sources that confirm it is 29-31 Chevrolet Viking hood ornament. Here is a link to one with a good picture

Definitely '29 to '31 Chevy.

FYI - '31 & '32 Chevy used an Eagle cap. So either style cap is correct for a '31.

WRONG! The Chevrolets had lots of things the Model A didn't have, like an overhead valve, electric start ,six cylinder. That is definetly a Chevrolet accessory cap.

 

If that's a Viking cap, I have the grille to go with it!
