Anybody know what year, or what manufacture my old car might be? My guess is about '64/'65. No cert on the chassis so its mainly for exibition/fun. I call it my noisy static display.

Say, what's the wheelbase of the Chassis Research and the Dragmaster cars???

King Chassis, what dia/wall tubing is that chassis you're building? That's awesome!
Can a chassis be welded up with a MIG? Or is it only a TIG deal.....

I'd love to build one of these.....an accurate late 50's-early 60's one, not a new style....these pics are a big help and inspiration.

Well, it would be a long tow from B.C. but you didn't specify. There is a flathead/inline series at Bandimere speedway in Denver. The 08 schedule shows 5 meets next summer. I don't know the rules or anything, but here's a few pics I took a couple yrs.ago.

The tube is 1 1/2'' x .058, roll bar is 1 5/8'' .083. front crossmembers where suspension will weld to is 1 1/2'' x .083 All Moly. Tig weld only on moly.
I have a real dragmaster car that is 124'' wheel base. It was cut in half when I got it. And when I welded it back together I was supprised it was sooo long. The new car is 98''. That is how long my friend Toms Dragmaster was.

  24. If it's an NHRA track, the same tech applies no matter where you are. Does the airstrip in Port Alberni have sanctioning from NHRA? I know the Top fuel bike i worked on ran the first 200+ mph pass there. Great track, lots of fun.;)

  30. Hey Royalshifter, I'm going to check with Gasser57(Kevin) or Don Moyer, but I believe this picture is from Cleveland, Ohio. Wonder if Lakewood Chassis turned into Lakewood Industries which eventually joined into Mr. Gasket. Could this be Joe Shubeck in the picture?
