Picked up a few this year. 1, '53 Victoria custom. 2, '26 roadster (Is 'For Sale', see Classifieds). 3, '29 Ford tudor that had been taken apart for restoration (you know it aint going back that way). 4, a '29 roadster body that had been skinned to remove the doors back in '57, its being built for land speed racing. 5, a '23 glass bucket w/turtle deck from the 70's I found at the scrapyard of all places. 6, and a '65 Fury lll with a 383, and lowered with skirts.
I did quite a bit of accumulatin' this year: 33 Chevy Tudor Sedan I found in the spring while pulling anhydrous tanks 36 Chevy Truck 60 Pontiac 2 door Starchief 30 Model A coupe Body 27 T Coupe Body 32 Ford Vicky 32 Ford 5 window Body 32 Ford Tudor Sedan
30/31 tudor sedan, 28/29 A coupe and a 25-27? T coupe a couple weeks ago {none had doors! ugh} the 60 ford wagon most of a 54 stude 2 door wagon the little F-85
I brought several out of obscurity, including four Studebakers ('52 pickup, '53 truck, '54 five-window coupe, '55 four-door sedan), a '49 GMC pickup, '49 Buick Special four-door sedan, and a '63 Ford Galaxie 500XL convertible, but this '52 Buick Special Deluxe probably is most interesting as a HAMB car. I saved it from a West Texas ranch pasture just west of New Mexico. It's complete, but, of course, showing exposure damage from the broken windows and years of Texas sun and heat. The odometer shows 66K miles, and the doors still shut with the sound of a new car. I expect, based on underside viewing, everything to be intact in the engine bay, but I've not yet been able to get the hood open, thanks to the frozen pull cable/quadruple latch system.
picked this one up about 5 months ago. have changed a lot since then. its turning into a fine driver and hope to put many miles on it next year.
well im saving this one after my shop caught on fire does that count? most people would give up.. ^ now with the exception of a few other things
One 34 Ford 1 1/2 ton flatbed that has stock running gear w/1960 283 installed, one 41 Chev 1 1/2 ton flatbed w/38K original miles on it, a free 45 Chev 1 1/2 ton flatbed dump, a nice, late, 31 Ford cab, and three 56 Ford pickups have all arrived in the past year. One 29 Ford RPU cab and a 1960 Lincoln have departed. I need more (dry) space.
Don't know if it counts as "saving" it, but I think I at least made it look a little better than it did... Before: After:
For the first time in a long time, I only bought a couple vehicles this year...the other being a truck. But I bought this...it was on it's way to being a lowrider...I (we) played with it a bit...anyone want it? Set up for a 60's gasser/drag style build now. New coils, new WW drag tires out back, 350, etc. PM me for all the details if you're interested. Otherwise, I'll get it going eventually...and shot in all one color
This one needed saving... My dad helped me haul it home back in February... It looked a little better bolted back together... and now safe inside... And we recently hauled home another Fordor... We'll get it bolted back together like the 32 and then figure out what to do with it. Neal
picked this up the end of last year . It sat for many years inside so if its getting reworked i guess thats saving it .
I picked up this model a coupe. I've kept it a coupster. I cleaned up the doors and the quarters. I mounted a 1940 chevy dash in it, and smoothed the cowl removing the windsheild posts. Jeff
Here is the rendition for the 39' done by Janne Kutja. I may run the original cap though. What do you guys think?
Found this old X-drag car that was about gone. Have been working on the project for about a year and hope to have it running within the next few months.
Bought this 1946 Chevrolet 1/2 ton June of this year. This is my first automobile purchase 'south of the 1970s'. I have enjoyed it immensely so far. Its basically stock other than an electric fuel pump and I relocated the gas tank under the bed. Not really hot rod material but traditional in every sense of the word. One of the best things that happened in conjunction with buying the truck was getting it home late the night before Father's day and taking my dad for the 'first ride' the on Father's Day. He just turned 77 earlier this month. We also took it out for a spin yesterday when he came out to visit.
1935 International under construction... bought from a scrap dealer for $200... It was rough when I got it, I have spend most of my time fixing the lower doors and cowl section. I do have a grill for it along with front fenders. Building my own frame. There was no box... I may build my own.
Heres one that my brother bought.. He saved it from the city.. The man we bought it off of had so many cars the city was telling him he needed to get rid of them.. Which is Bullshit.. A man could never have enough cars.. Its a 70 Cadillac Coupe De' Ville.. Im gona start workin on it this summer for my brother. My brother is 18 and im 16 so considering were still young we got us some nice cadillac's. I got him a great deal on this one. He only paid $200. And the only real problem with the body is on the fender. The rest is all surface rust. But once I pull out the interior and carpet we will see what the floors look like. Because it was siting in a field for like 10 years. So i think we are going to have some problems with the floor. But who knows we will find out
Just payed for this one today Now I have to wait 6 weeks for the transport to Sweden. 6 weeks is a long time
