Anyone have problems with Garage subscriptions?

  1. Like a lot of people on here I have had the same bull-**** happen to me. It took me 5 emails, 12 pm's and 5 phone calls over a period of 4 months to get anything resolved.

BUT, I finally made good contact and was treated extremely well. The next issue, I have been told, is due out in February. I really want to believe this time and will stand by them until proven wrong again.

Thanks for the thought, Jesse, but the email doesn't work. GARAGE rocks, and once you get the subscription thing boilerplated it will be able to go anywhere. Until then I hope you'll keep up contact with the subscribers, they are the faithful...the ones who ponied up for something they believe in.

I believe Jesse will take care of this. The guy bought the magazine as an investment, not to destroy it! He takes on the same at***ude he would for his custom bikes that he builds for customers, make sure the customer is happy with the product he is putting out. Plain and simple! KNUX!

here is the e-mail I received on December 26th, after I asked status:

in bold it states when I expect to receive my first issue:

    Thank you for your inquiry!
Please remember that it takes approximately 14-18 weeks from the date you place your subscription order via PayPal or from the date your check is cashed to receive your first issue although it can take longer if we are in between issues or if you live outside the U.S.
You will receive the NEXT AVAILABLE ISSUE after you place your order, NOT the one that is on the stands at the time your order is placed.

If you placed and paid for your order on or after July 15th and before December 20th then your first issue will be #17 due out in February 2008.

Please remember that if you moved** after you placed your order you MUST submit a change of address via regular postal mail. You can find out more about changing your address and forwarding your mail by visiting www.usps.com.

Your subscription will be mailed to the address listed in the "Shipping Address" section indicated on your PayPal transaction receipt. If you move and do not notify us in time you could risk missing an issue and you will have to purchase it on the stands as we do not replace missed issues.

**Please note that if the Postal Service alerts us that your magazine is undeliverable, we have no further obligation. If you move or change your mailing address we must receive a change of address in writing, phone calls will not be accepted. We are not responsible for lost or missed issues due to non-communication of an address change.
If you miss an issue due to an address change we will be notified by the USPS and will notify you in writing of your options (ONLY if the post office provides us with a forwarding address). If you move be sure to have your mail forwarded otherwise you may miss an issue if your move date is on or around the drop-ship date for new issues. We cannot be held responsible if you do not forward your mail.

Our issues do sell out quickly and we cannot guarantee that a missed issue will still be available on the stands once you notify us that you did not receive one. If you miss an issue please notify us immediately (within 30 days) so that we can look into and correct the problem.

If you have more questions please refer to our FAQs www.garagemagazine.com/faqt.html or
    Terms of Sale www.garagemagazine.com/termst.html

Wondering about how to get BACK ISSUES?
As mentioned on our website, our web store is under construction and back issues are not available at this time. Please check back in a few months.
You can always check your local Barnes and Nobel, Borders, Wal-Mart, 7-11 or independent online auctions for current and possibly back issues.

on a slightly O/T note,...I received my oil tank for my CFL from WCC (see my ranting in a previous post) so I owe Jesse an apology.
The WCC customer service is wayyyyy better than it ws a couple of years ago, Curtis at WCC had my bad oil tank picked up, and a new, polished tank to me in days. He sent e-mails and updates.
Sorry I called threw the ******** flag on your customer service at WCC in my previous posts on this thread. Curtis was very helpfull and expedited this problem.
    THANK YOU.

    Hey, y'all--

We're finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel with our subscriptions problems. We've found a new subscription fulfillment company that will solve our problems: pretty soon, we'll have a page on our soon-to-be-relaunched site where you can get in direct touch with the fulfillment house, sign up with a credit card, talk to someone dedicated to a GARAGE subscription phone line and we'll have all this supported with (most likely) a toll-free number published in the magazine (but you're reading this online, so I'm ***uming you'll prefer the online feature).

As you know, it's been difficult for us to handle our subscribers the way we've been trying to in the past year and a half. And I know we've lost some of you. But I'm asking you to hang in there with us as we go through our growing pains and we'll get this straightened out very soon.

You, as a subscriber, deserve to be treated with the utmost respect for trusting us with your $20 – it's not the amount, it's the principle of the thing. And, while I've tripped and stumbled on the subscription end of the business – and it's even harder when you do it out in the open in front of everyone – we're getting it fixed.

Bear with me and I'll get you taken care of. All I ask is that you email me directly at:

    chief@garagemagazine.com

NOT through a PM here on the HAMB--I'm just not on the board with enough consistency and I can track emails quickly and easily. So, please--drop me an email with your info and I promise you I'll respond as soon as I see it.

Thanks again for your ongoing patience,

    STONER

~ I haven't had a problem, I just tell myself it's a Bi-Yearly publication, and if I get any more issues than two, it must be a bonus issue.

I was told i would get the rest of my subscription (a whole years worth) starting mid february.... nothing yet. It really cant be that hard to find a fullfilment company that is capable of completeing subscriptions. look at all the mags that ship out millions of issues in a year. time for new management if you ask me.

If you'd read the thread they had major problems with the distribution company. They admitted they ****ed up and everything is supposed to be fixed now, starting mid february issues will be sent out. It could just be a stall tactic but who knows, I'm not defending them but they said what happened & whats going to happen so *****ing over and over isn't going to solve anything.....
So like I said either wait a few weeks and if you still don't get it feel free to keep complaining but until then just wait and see. If its already been over a year that shouldn't be that hard.

I was just about to send a pile of parts in for new product reviews, guess I should wait. I paid for my subscription about year ago, not one issue yet.
