    Thanks..
No arrogance here, just a missunderstanding about the group here on my part.. I've posted on a few other forums I am on(none of them Musclecar forums), an it's been well received, with no negativity anywhere else..

But it's not a problem at all, every forum is different, I'll just keep the posts limited to the 40s Dodge I am building, and I'll post up more on that as work progresses. ;)

  2. Although it doen't fit the pre-'65, it's nice and congrats on getting some mag coverage. Some of these guys bashing you probably have fuckin' Jap cars in their driveway...

It's a nice car. And your point about the off topic shit staying here is right on. Thats why I wish we had a lounge. I miss so many good threads here because of all stupid shit posted that has no relevance. So, yes, I would rather see an off topic post about this type of car than some of the other stupid shit on here.

    Just my insignificant opinion,
    Mike

to hell with the rest of them. i'm happy for ya. i'm a car guy through and through and like a wide variety of styles, not just so called "traditional" cars. i'm not a huge fan of alot of the Mopars of that era but you did good with that car. dig the paint and the factory all balck interior. all i'd change are the wheels. those things are hideous in my humble opinion. i'll bet it's a fun ride. good for you.

...and no hot rod of ANY kind:rolleyes:.

  6. I agree with everybody... if that's possible. Congrats on the spread, but there are other forums who will appreciate it more.

you definatley are new here. LOL old men on the computer are worse then women anytime. LOL my ex-wife (before we added the "ex" part) used to read the HAMB just for the drama. she always told me that old men were worse than women and i tend to agree.
after you have been around a while you will figure out who the self appointed "traditional police" are. just ask em what they have to show for all their infinate knowledge and wisdom. half of em would'nt know a TRUE traditional car if it ran em over... TWICE!:D

  9. Really a great ride Bro. You just ventured into the wrong territory. We do get off topic but a muscle car can raise the roof real easy as you see. Don't be offended, just try to move on and enjoy your mag. success. After all, we are all just car guys and gals.xxoo-Sololobo

I saw those wheels and thought man I haven't seen those in nearly 20 years! I think they are period correct and match the car nicely. ;)

I don't see a problem with a few mullet cars slipping into a 'post your car freeforall' where anyone can post pics of their junk because most of the cars shown are relevant and on-topic.

Even the surfboard thread has pics of on-topic cars strapped to some longboards. And if you think hot rods and surfboard don't go together then you've been under a rock for too long.

But you've posted a "look at my muscle car" thread. Big difference and WAY off-topic.

You guys- come on- the guy is thrilled on getting his ride in a magazine- do you think for ONCE someone could just say 'great job' or 'cool' and not be such a jerkoff?

There are so many people here who chat about cars that arent in the 'folds' of the HAMB - but you have to be mean to this guy?

Y'all should be happy for him - sounds more like jealousy that it wasnt YOU.

Glad you got your car in a magazine- the HAMB really isnt for cars of this era- but congrats nonetheless.

there is a great board out there for muscle cars called www.musclerides.com Im on from time to time- check it out. :D

whatever happend to this being ONE hobby?

Unless a surfboard has a flathead Ford mounted on the front with an old 2 speed rearend, I don't see how you could classify a surfboard as a "pre 64 Rod or Kustom" Mine at least has wheels

Definitely an improvement on the wheels! Have you thought about lowering it a little with the wheel/tire change?
    Looks like a fun car.

Something that might have helped you with this thread is to put "O/T" in the title, since muscle cars are off topic.

.... and this is hilarious! :D

I think a flathead-powered pre-'64 surfboard is more a hot rod (and likewise on-topic) than your muscle car. With or without a 2-speed diff.

People who owned hot rods and c/kustoms surfed before 1964. Legendary surfer/shaper Dale Velzy owned a famous '40 Merc kustom back in the '60s. I want to say it was Nick Matranga's car but I'm probably wrong. I am pretty certain that it was a Barris car.

Did anyone drive a '74 Roadrunner before '64? I thought not.

I just found the stroller thread and I think it's more relevant to this board than your car. They look more like old cars than yours! Granted, I don't give a rat's rod about strollers but the examples in the thread are styled after the cars that we love. Yours isn't.

It's great that you got some ink, were the guys over on the VW board stoked for you too?

    How about a Hemi?

When was the last time YOU had a car in a magazine? Just because he was off topic on a board doesnt mean you need to rip him a new one. He's apologized for being uninformed and a newbie...

I guess it needs to look like Jackass Joe Backyard worked on the car without any true car building talent ('if the part is free-its for me...' ) for you to pay attention to it....

Funny I remember back in the 80's driving a 64 Mustang- couldnt even get into car shows with it 'it looked too new'. And now- HMMMM.....

WOW man- settle down- its a message forum for goodness sake.

Now that's a REALLY dumb question! The mullet comes STANDARD with ownership of ANY 1973 to 1978 Mopar Product!

Even in the 80's.. prime time for the Mullet.. I didn't have one..
My hair was more than half way down my back, and in the front (bangs and all) it was past my nipples... I was into the metal scene, more than the hair band scene :p

    It's short now ;)

Now I see a current thread with over 500 posts about "funny things to say, words to use"

How is THAT on topic?

I didn't need to know the nipple thing. I wonder if i could come with a black, surfboard stroller, with wide whites and red rims. Now that would be the shit.
