Hey Jesse, do you get a chance to drive your rides much...

is the crowds around the shop still as bad. I used to stop thru to check out the cars in your show room (especially the 57 wagon) before the shows hit TV and it was not bad, but once the bike shows and MG hit TV it was just to much..

Hey Jesse, nice merc. You gotta do something to it tho...paint the front of that radiator flat or semi-flat black. It sticks out like something un-finished. Hey man, just my .02 and not wanting to dis yer stuff. That's just one of those "things" about some cars that wears me the fuck out. Same with core supports that are the same color, ya know, like a yellow or bright red car with the color showing through the grille. Perhaps it's just me that gets on about this? Nice car tho, real nice.

I'll beat the rest of you to the smart ass retort, "what if it's a black car?" Well then it needs a black radiator.

Yes, it will. It's their highest rated programming of the year. This year it starts on Tuesday.
I'm selling 2 cars this year.

The only MG car I was hoping would be for sale was Sour Kraut.

    Hey, Jesse, Want my autograph?

  14. Yes, 1st day aired is the 15th of January. I hope the prices sink. Although B-J is like the land of make believe, it does have some "ripple" affect down to our levels. And if it keeps up, our next generation will never be able to afford this hobby. I'll guess a large percentage of the buyers at B-J didn't know what a classic car was 5 years ago. They were probably playing with race horses or yachts before they found this new playground for themselves

The vast majority of buyers are dealers buying their own shit back!

As soon as they leave and the stage empties the prices drop hard

I amongst all this ''Pro-Wrestlin'' BS there are the Fish and yes there are more than a few.

Barret once said ''You can't pay too much. You just brought too early''

He started dealing cars buy reading obits and buying stuff from greavin relatives.........

A few years ago I was watching two of my buddy's on TV looking glum cause their car wasn't getting a real bid..... Called one on his cell .....
Saw him answer the phone right there on TV and told them to "Smile the world was watching!" Couldn't believe he answered the phone:)

Bluto, I've heard this from more than one source that I trust about most of the big cars going home on the same trailer they came in on. The thing I don't get is...aren't they paying an 8% seller fee AND an 8% buyer fee to show their car without it really selling? That's $16k in fees plus expenses on $100k car. I wouldn't think you'd want to do that very many times. How does that work?

Tuesday thru Friday evening cars are bought for pennies on the dollar what it would cost to build. You and the general public get wrapped up and only remember the stuff that sells for Millions because someone famous owned it or its a concept car.

Have you ever been to the auction? If you cant build a car.... or your not worried about saying "I built this", then its a perfect place to buy a car.

    Scoob........

Here's how it works..... Auction companies make deals with those that support them throughout the year........ there is little or nothing paid if the car doesn't sell and reduced fees if it does

If dealers had to pay they wouldn't have 2/3's of the cars they have!!

I have sold at auction and never paid a reg or seller's fee. The companies are happy to have my cars as a draw

Watch the auctioneer take bids some he points with his hand open some with fingers held tight....... Spotters do the same thing..... these are real and fake bids........ the poor fish doesn't have a chance

The dealers stand on the stage and watch to see who's real and bid the fish up

    You don't have a chance........

Meanwhile if your just a normal guy with a good car the auction company will try to BUY YOUR CAR CHEAP with their own guys bidding once or twice

Many folks will let their car go at a low bid rather than pay the auction co even more money and take their car home.........

You are all "fish in a barrel" AND they get national TV coverage

There is only one guy I trust in the Auction game...... and there are times when I wonder about him too

A few days ago a real nice '55 Chevy hardtop left her on the way to B-J. the owner has $195,000 in the car. Paul Newman Chassis, Gale Banks twin turbo all aluminum small block, 6 spd trans, Air cruise, tilt and about every other Lexus option you can name. It's going no-reserve (like all of the cars this year) so................ roll the dice. The only way for him to save his ass if the bidding doesn't fall right is to buy it himself and pay the fees. He made a few million in the tool and Die business so his attitude is "you win a few,you loose a few". We've built a few cars for him and he hasn't made a dime on any of them. He just enjoys the build and the planning and seeing the concept come together. This last one he hasn't even driven, only heard the engine run over the phone. He's hanging here in Michigan until after the auction before heading to his Florida condo for the winter. That way if the car doesn't sell he'll bring it back here to store in his Summer home and "maybe drive it a bit" next summer.
Oh yea, people with money think a little "different".:)

Damn, I hope you keep the chopped/sectioned 54 Chevy -- just because Bill, Gene, Dick, and Norm worked on that build.

Bill Hines embodies kick ass, politically incorrect "old school" -- love that guy.

Who kept the diesel truck engine on wheels? That had to be fun to drive down the I-5.

Sure would like to see a side shot of the Merc. I think one of the funniest cars on that show was the "HoneyBee", that was hilarious.
