Custom Buick pics. Who's got'em?

Gonna be a long cold witner. Looking for some inspiration while working on my 56 Special. Got a good idea what I want to pull off. Just wanting to see what else is out there. Any year buicks will do. Gotta love the poor mans Caddilac!

 

Kinda off topic, but does anyone have a picture of Jerry Hills buick? Remember riding in it as a kid. I think it had packard tails, maybe a 52, or 3. Sorry for the jack!

 

Well, here's mine, before and after... I found her less than a mile from home. No, it's not a '56. Somebody had already started to make her into a custom, and if you look VERY carefully at the "before" pic, you can see that it is the same car...

A tree had fallen on it, but the roof popped out pretty nicely. I must admit, the second photo is somewhat more flattering than the actual car. Still, I'm pretty glad I got this one back on the road. Yes, winter is a great time to start on a car. I bought this one around Feb, although I don't remember what year. I guess I'm getting old.

Here's a couple pics of my '55 'Super'...same body as the 'Roadmaster', which is longer overall than the 'Special'/'Century'. I sold this car a few years ago, and it went to Australia...anybody here on the HAMB have it now???

 

Yeah...what color?? Is it the Buick '***ian' (not sure about the spelling) red? Beautiful car!!

Actually, I don't know... They didn't paint it the color I had chosen. I gave them the paint code, and somehow it ended up this color, BUT I'm glad they goofed. It's much better than the color I had in mind. This has sort of a burgundy/copper/orange tint, with the copper/orange really only showing up in direct lighting... It's actually a great color, and if I only knew WHAT the color is, I'd probably do another one someday with the same paint.

Unfortunately, I'll never know.

 

The first two are my car. Shes a mild custom. the second two i found looking for pics of chops. 54-56 look bad*** chopped but they are a complicated chop were start trying to figure out what its gunna take to do it right. at least it seems like it to me.

 

They do look sweet chopped. The windshield and rear window pillars seem like they would totally **** to figure out. Good luck.

 

Mine is getting closer, took her to the interior shop this morning for a pearl white pleat and roll job.

 

I don't know if you can categorize this one as a custom, but it's fun and the sound from that nail head is fantastic...

on a 1972 Monte Carlo ch***ie, 350 motor, 375 turbo, air ride, 61 Chevy dash (modified) and steering wheel.

 

Im always hoping that Ill get on here one day that some one will have done a tech thread on chopping a mid50's buick. that what be a detailed tech im sure.

 

Yep, I like the hell outta that. but Im kinda a whitewall kinda guy.

You could put wagon wheels under that car and it would look bad ***. I plan on throwing supremes under mine when it's finished.

 

Which one ? The chopped 60 hardtop with the removable roof and chrysler grille.
The chopped 60 wagon with the 50 merc grille.
The man was a unreal customizer.He was a great friend too.I really miss him
