Here are a couple pics I saw of the car at Pistons and Paint in Denton. I cannot say I would do it the same if it were my car, but some of the fabrication was pretty clean. He did a nice job on the front frame stubs.

  3. like it or not there are lots of cars on here that people dont agree about. and there has been a lot of crazy crap shown and disscussed over the years. and there always will be. i myself am kinda tried of the stand by of "thats not trad" when thay see some thing they dont like. all tradition stems from is a point in time. just find your point and build it. not every A can be deuce framed, flathead powered, pick your peirod perfect car. some may look like they should have been a mini truck

Thats no fun. i bet you respond to this...

your car fucking sucks. your proportions are all off and you did a shitty job. every one that works on cars knows engineers dont have any common sense. just cause it works doesnt make it right. Your car is gay thats what i think and if you dont like it then go cry over your slanted rusty grill perhaps it will teach it to sit up right. you suck at building cars! and im sick of the pussys on here bitching about cussing. fuck shit fuckity fuck ass. didnt the hamb use to be about a bunch of hoodlems making hot rods not a bunch of pussys stroking every ones cock just cause they picked up a wrench and a welder.
    fucking A

And not everyone's going to like your stuff either. You know that by now. I don't like it. I don't have to. If you don't expect opinions, don't show it.

I remember the first couple of times I went to grab a rootbeer in my chopped/sectioned '56 Ford (see avatar) and would here some lady walking by saying, "Why would someone do that?"

    "Uh ...
    1. because I can
    2. because I wanted to
    She'd never get it anyway.

It'd get pretty boring aound these parts if all you saw on here were period perfect hot rods with exactly the same cookie cutter set ups. Seems to me like some people on here think that by talking shit about someones taste, that it will make some sort of difference. other than people sharing less of their own ideas, and tastes. Which is um... the complete oppisite of what i think this joint is about.
    Am i wrong?
So what you are trying to say is "If you dont like what i like, get out?"

I like off beat stuff. I have never in 61 years seen this style actually built. Tough shit to the critics. Their cars are starting to all look the same. I salute you!

  15. I don't care for it. I never understood air bags in a hot rod.
But, whatever blows your skirt up man...

I don't care what style car people build. To each his own. However I do care when I see some very unsafe steering/suspension practices. Why, because it may effect my ability to build cars in the future. If those detail photos someone else posted are of your car please rethink what you did with those bones and how you have attached your pitman arm. Rod ends are unsafe as you have installed yours, it should be in double shear. At least use some sort of saftey on it. There is a reason why OEM manufactures use a taper on tie rod ends.

in the words "traditional hotrod" I was always under the impression that meant pre-64 here on the H.A.M.B. and just because somebody builds a 50's ford custom shoe box or a tri 5 tuna can bowtie or even a 63 riv, that is still acceptable even if it isn't your idea of a "traditional hotrod" your starting to sound like a grumpy old man that's gonna some young blood how you did when you were a kid and the guys running the studebakers with the tongues thought this gasoline thing to dangerous and it's just a fad, lighten up and enjoy somebody else's perspective on trying something different, just to look at what can happen when it's done different is the harley soft tail chassis so the old guys can still ride something that looks like what they cut their teeth on, your attitude sucks, just my $.02 worth though

Hi Boys, this is Larry's wife. The one that supports him in everything he chooses to do. He's been sharing these posts with me and I must say that some of you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. If it weren't for people that think differently we'd still be riding horses and you wouldn't have old cars to modify into "hotrods".

I have been to many car shows and walked around looking at the cars and the people, must of the cars and the people look the same. I am proud fo my forward thinking husband for the "one off" rods he fabrricates. As far as safety goes, he always thinks about his family and our safety. He puts seatbelts in his cars so we can join in the fun and be safe. Our beauitful 6 years ols daughter loves riding in her daddy's creations and she will probably grown and built car that you have never dreamed of because her daddy has taught her not to go with the flow just because someone might not like it. And that's MY .02 worth. Thank you Larry for sharing your passion for hotrods with your family and doing it your way.

    Hey Larry,
I am fighting the urge to post a photo of that slutty bud of yours, Red in his car gathering hat standing by your ride. Now that would send folks way of the edge, lmao.

    Larry,
Thanks for taking my "language" comment so well. It wasn't aimed at you only. It just seemed that this thread was going in a triple X direction. I don't post pics of many of my rods (I have quite a few running cars) just because of the response you have received. I am not quite as daring or creative as you, but some of my rides come close. At rod runs and outdoor events, people that like my stuff come forward and we have a good time visiting. People that don't like my stuff move on and look at other rods. They have the courtesy to rip my cars with their buddies and leave me out of it. Seems like if you are at a keyboard on the end of miles of wire, people can get pretty bold, and crude.

Hey Larry, don't let the old grumps ruin a good thing, they just can't think outside the bun anymore, chassis pics would be cool to see though

This one would most likely be better suited for another forum somewhere... Rat rods aren't really our thing.
