As far as the central Connecticut area, I think you'll be out of luck.

There is one in Rhode Island that's pretty good as far as older vehicles, North Smithfield, I believe... I've got the number in my cell just not the name. It's a pick and pull. PM me if you're interested in that #.

    Good luck,

well let me keep the connecticut junkyard talk going alittle longer. I broke my junkyard cherry last month when I actually went into a junkyaard. This yard was in New Haven CT . Cost me a buck to get in and a signature of my liability.

What I saw was mostly 80% foreign . and 85% 1980 and newer.
    saw a two corvairs.

Junkyard wanter 100$ for a pair of worn leather seats from an s10. It was worth the buck to see what was out their.

anyone know of any other junkyards in CT that have an entrance fee?

No good yards left in the Hartford area. The last halfway decent yard closed up early this year.
Are you just in need of 2gc carbs, do you know what year, model etc... how many do you need?
What are going to be doing for work in this area? How long will you be here?
I live about 12 miles east in Glastonbury but work in Hartford, maybe we could meet up somewhere, or you are welcome to stop over and check out my junk etc...
Or if others are interested, maybe we could all meet up somewhere such as the Olympia diner on the Berlin Turnpike for a small meet and greet. Just an idea that you might be interested in meeting some of us while you are here.

    You could try these guys:

    http://www.lajoies.com/

I know they sponsor some race cars that use Rochester 2 bbl carburetors...so it's possible that they save a lot of them for the guys who race.

And yes it is the LaJoie of Nascar fame. It is Randy's dad Don's business. He raced for years with the flathead racers at Danbury Racerarena. Look here for lots of pictures of his old stock cars:

Check out http://www.manchestermotorcar.com/ they are a full service shop just east of Hartford 10 minutes by highway in Manchester. You shouldn't miss it when visiting the Hartford area. The shop is awsome. A walk through time. They always have multiple projects going on. The showroom is insane with a constant changing inventory of antiques, hot rods, customs, and muscle. They also have automobilia. Last I remember they aquired a very old carb company in Hartford, then recloated it to the shop. Give them a call tell them Joe DelCiampo (del campo) sent you. Butch the owner is an old family friend. Let me know how it goes. Good Luck, and enjoy the shop.
