You know i like the chrome reverse wheels alot but didn't want them for a reason, and you said it perfect. "Understated and a bit flashy at the same time." I agree. The Hamb is obviously not the right place for the 3rd picture but I do think they look good. AND i'm sure i'm not the only one. Obviously since I didn't take the picture. And Sams 55 does look great, really great, but i wouldn't cut the wheel wells and the look wouldn't be the same. Here is a picture of my car , this pic is from this past weekend when my dad, mom and I took a trip up north to pick it up. Perfect weather by the way 99% of the time, the opposite of what the weatherman said, last time i listen to them.

    i agree!,but i went with crossbars....:)

...it really depends on the car and the look your going for...the thing with tri fives is that they can be built anyway you want ...hot rod, psuedo gasser, gasser, custom, lowrider, goldchainer, big wheel Dub'er,like Boones said,,what looks good on a 55 ,may not look good on a 56,or what looks good on 56 might not look good on a 57 and so on and so on.....it all depends on the look your going for,,,,

i personally dont like 55 chevys, unless its a 2dr. post done up street racer style,a 56 is so much prettier(and i'm not just saying that because i own one) 57's are my second favorite(unless its a convert ,then it moves to the front of the line) :)

I think it all depends on everything. I didn't see this thread yesterday, but I got yhinking about this very subject when I saw my daughter playing with one of my son's 55 CHevy Hot Wheels cars last night.

I really dig Samiyam's car, but the one squirrel posted gets me too.

If I built a 55, it would be black & white factory-style 2-tone, and I'd probably run wide whites, black 15" steelies, and 52 Chevy dog dishes. Car would be kinda low in the back, and really low in the front.

A 56 (my favorite tri-five) would prolly get cragars or old style americans. Probably blackwalls, but redlines might be a consideration depending on the color of the car.

Not sure what I'd do with a 57. Probably sell it and get a 56. LOL

So I looked around and I came pretty close to getting some big billets for it, but turned away just cause of the shit i'd get from people who really knew about cars, haha, they do look good though I have to give them that, I decided i'm going with Cragar Super Sport wheels, 15x4.5", with a 2"backspacing up front, now out back i'm gonna run 15x8" but what i'm not sure about is weather a 4.25" or a 2.5" would be better with that 235 tire.. I dont want to rub. anyone know which would be best ?? I would think 4.25" but i could have it backwards.. Can't wait to get these wheels.. Thanks guys.

i think if you want those wheels you should get them, it sounds to me like you do and that's cool with me....the only one you have to make happy is YOURSELF,,,,,this is a traditional website,so most here will say they dont like them....but who cares,,its your car,if you want the big wheels get them,,,

i have seen some tri fives with the Coy wheels 18" & 20"s with the gray centers(look kinda like torque thrust) and they do look killer,,,

I know the ones your talking about, and those are actually what i was looking at, but the thing is, if i was building this car to sell, I would probably go for the big wheels, it would honestly sell for more, but i'm building this car for myself right now, and I looked at what i wanted to drive more.. honestly.. the cragars are more my style.. but i hear what your saying.. in addition, im just lowering this 57 and the coys i feel look better on a bagged car that lays out nice over the rims.. just my personal feelings.. but thanks for the words of encouragment sam, i appreciate it. i'll post some pics of the 57 when i get the wheels on this week or next. Should be bitchen.

That '57 with the Buick grille is just plain pretty. I'm a sucker for that look. (chrome reverse with baby moons) Second, I would have to say painted steelies with baby moons then Americans if you want the performance look.

That looks pretty sharp! I honestly wouldn't have thought of them for a tri-five, but poke me in the eye and call me Larry, it works......I like it !
