These are suspended about 20 feet in the air on what look like Basketball backboard poles. They look complete but they have been up there for a very looong time. Crazy.
I respect Marcel Duchamp as much as the next guy, but it still really bugs me when some takes something rare with function and purpose and makes it useless.
Maaan...don't be fooled. Back when I was working at the dragster shop, these guys that ran a re-paving service would CONTINUALLY run over our mailbox. (like twice a week.) we tried cementing a chunk of schedule 40 into the ground. flat. so, we finally gave in. Cliff had been holding onto a waaay broken 426 Hemi block and heads. (one head had a valve hammered so deep into it you would think it would have split in half) the block had a broken main, and he had a crank that was in no danger of ever being used again. So, for fun, we bolted it all together with a blower manifold that had been helicoiled so many times, you could no longer install studs on it- you had to run actual steel bolts into it, and a blower case that looked like someone had attempted to use it to mix cement. It was about the coolest lookin' Mailbox stand you have ever seen. when they hit it, we would just go out and stand it back up. Strangely enough, after about a week...we didn't have to stand it up anymore.
although, upon further inspection, there are alot of very usable parts up there...mabey they're sealed up reeeally well, and just in storage? really...even as crfty as some of us are...how the heck are you gonna get up there and get them down without a forklift? Hell, Shaq is a pretty big dude...but I doubt even he could pluck one of those boogers down.
I wouldn't be so quick to judge the guy who has them up there like that... I mean, an "Artist" who was trying to "express himself" wouldn't have a cover on the scoop on the blower motor! Hahahaha! The guy seems to me to be the ultimate gear head! I like it! Sam.
Are you SURE it's an orginal engine...and NOT a 'glas model...??? Sure would look like a fool if you cut it down and found out it was...lemme see now - breaking and entering, theft of personal property... In your spare time, visit some junkyards that'll let you poke around in them and leave the artsy guy alone. R-
What about the half corpse hanging next to it...I hope thats only a plastic one and not a real one....
Since they are a visual expression of m***ive power standing straight up in the air it must mean he has a small ****. Spend the $$ for a crack ***** to service him and steal that **** when he is getting his sloppy crack ***** groove on!
Yeah, screw individuality! PS- what are hotrods about again?????? Only a sheep would think there's more than a few useable parts up there.
Crazy!! Check out the no-mow yard. He or a neighbor, who ever owns the trees needs my tree guru, Rob Lee up there to clean out the dead timber. I see the big *** security camera to look out for his art!! So just when you think you have seen it all here comes this gem!! Thanks for the interesting subject-Sololobo
Next time your neighbors ***** about that car in the yard just threaten em with installing a set of these ultra rare bird feeders.
It's pretty obvious, So you can lay in bed, look out the window and have something interesting to look at. Don't even have to go downstairs.
The juxtaposition of the orange (unblown) motor to the purple (blown) motor indicates not only the orange one is ****in' hind teet, but also is not even going in the right direction. Simple as ****.
Their fun to go look at,,, but you have to drive in the back alley, you can't see them from the street, you have to know where they are, and they have been there for a long time ( early 70's) my buddy's dad bought a camper from that guy in early 70's and they were there at that time. Roach
