    Jim,
Are you intending to make it a legal NHRA altered?
    Thanks,
    Bob

I am not intending to run it at any NHRA sanctioned events. I do want it safe and solid. I am intending to race it and drive it on the street.

Cool ideas as always, Jim. You have WAY too much energy and talent. Too far would be if the body lifted up every time you punched the throttle like the skull's jaw on the '34 clown coupe.

    Car is perfect.

  9. Reminds me of the Orange Crate!

I'd shorten the wheelbase up 4 inches, put a blower or injection on it... flake, chrome...

    You know, 60's Show/Drag rod!

A couple of people have commented on the wheelbase. Its not that long. I shortened the body 16 inches and narrowed it 4 before chopping it 6. I am thinking it will need the 120 inch wheelbase just to keep it straight down the strip.

The longer wheelbase will also transfer weight to the rear of the car. I like it!

Jim, car is just too cool. There is a great article on 409s in the Feb 08 issue of Car Craft. Shows the complete build of a 481 inch 409 using a 454 crank. They used the 425 HP heads a roller cam 10 to 1 comp made 531 HP at 5800 and 542 ft lbs torque at 4500 all on 92 octane. Its a good article and shows all part#s used. That otta do er A!. Im another one for thinkin the ch***is is too long.
Radiator and grill placement will look odd anywhere You put it JMO. My 68 Dodge Dart Racecar has a 111" inch wheelbase and runs high 9s. It goes straight on 10" slicks with 8 1/2" rims. Love the tilt. FEDER
