I am not intending to run it at any NHRA sanctioned events. I do want it safe and solid. I am intending to race it and drive it on the street.
Oh man! I absolutely LOVE it! Looks good to me! I will require more pictures though! Just to be sure, you know!
Cool ideas as always, Jim. You have WAY too much energy and talent. Too far would be if the body lifted up every time you punched the throttle like the skull's jaw on the '34 clown coupe.
Reminds me of the Orange Crate! I'd shorten the wheelbase up 4 inches, put a blower or injection on it... flake, chrome... You know, 60's Show/Drag rod! Sam.
Jim, you have gone beyond the point of no return! two words for that thing bad ***, okay one word for it BAD***!
A couple of people have commented on the wheelbase. Its not that long. I shortened the body 16 inches and narrowed it 4 before chopping it 6. I am thinking it will need the 120 inch wheelbase just to keep it straight down the strip.
Its an awful waste of time and money ... I would be more than happy to help you with your illness .... I will come ASAP to pick it up ... Just send me your address and I will send you a Nigerian money order for the some of 10,000.00 . Just cash it and keep 5000.00 . I will pick up your car and the remaining money asap ..... Thanks..... Johny C. Rap ( It awsome, keep up the good work !!!!!!!!! )
Im thinkin about doin it with that house of color tangelo orange. has anybody got a pic of a car done that color?
jim just curious where did you take the 16 inches out of? is it all out of the trunk and quarters or did you take some out of the doors? mat
I was going to say "I think I love you." but that wouldnt be right... I love you. Between this and Littleman's new creation... I'm having sensory overload! Way way way cool!
Never mind the O/T vehicle.....but this orange is close to the HOK, maybe a little lighter....this is Chromabase Vitamin C with gold pearl in the clear.... Hope this helps......your car would look KILLER orange!
Looks killer Jim. Weren't you originally going to run a Hemi? And isn't the home of the Orange Crate Spokane? Might be able to check it out in person.
Jim, car is just too cool. There is a great article on 409s in the Feb 08 issue of Car Craft. Shows the complete build of a 481 inch 409 using a 454 crank. They used the 425 HP heads a roller cam 10 to 1 comp made 531 HP at 5800 and 542 ft lbs torque at 4500 all on 92 octane. Its a good article and shows all part#s used. That otta do er A!. Im another one for thinkin the ch***is is too long. Radiator and grill placement will look odd anywhere You put it JMO. My 68 Dodge Dart Racecar has a 111" inch wheelbase and runs high 9s. It goes straight on 10" slicks with 8 1/2" rims. Love the tilt. FEDER
