Well ****, that's probably going to be the same weekend as the HotRod Cinematic. Hasn't the RRW usually taken place TWO weeks after the GG event?

    I'm bummed

For everybody else on the HAMB, do not confuse this with the Road Rockets Rumble held in Indy June 19th, 20th and 21st.

RRW is a David Loehr production.

For information about the Road Rocket Rumble, go to the Road Rockets website:

Your right, I did confuse the two:eek:

Boy, hanging out on the HAMB is an emotional roller coaster today...planning on going to a show one minute, thinking it's on a conflicting weekend the next, then finding out it's actually a different event, now back to my regular event schedule.:D

No, your ok, in years past Dave Leohrs Rockabilly Weekender and the Road Rockets Rumble were held on the same weekend and shared the same location on Saturday for the carshow.

This year, the Road Rockets will continue with the rockabilly weekender June 19, 20 and 21st. The car show will run the same days. Plan to come to this event. The change will be transparent except the Road Rockets are commited to make sure it will be better than in years past.

Also This Is A 3 Event This Year Car Show Actually Will Begin On Thursday And Continue On Through Saturday. For More Info Go To Www.indyroadrockets.com

  12. Yes, the Rockabilly Rebel Weekender #16 and the road rocket's deal are 2 separate events. especially since the road rockets stole the date and hotel from David Loehr. David has been having his weekender on the same weekend for at least 4 years, and has used that hotel the past 2 years. not to mention, the road rockets have been going around telling people that they are taking over the weekender because David Loehr has decided not to have them anymore. way to go guys. sneaky and underhanded per usual. go here for info on the real weekender, not the imitatiors. http://www.myspace.com/davidloehr David Loehr's Rockabilly Rebel Weekend is the longest running weekneder in the United States. don't be fooled by imitations!

Why can't everyone just get along?

The events are on two different weekends.

Pick the one you want to attend and forget it.

Looks to me like they are two seperate events held on different sides of town. I like having the two seperate dates.:)
Your slam on the club is totally un called for and not really needed in this discussion.

The Road Rockets one is being held at the GG host hotel if it's the same place I'm thinking of. I called and it was a three day minimum so I'm staying down the street. At least I'll be able to get a good nights sleep.:D

Looking forward to seeing all my Indy pals.....there will be Spam sandwiches for lunch right?? I'll bring the cookies for desert.;)

  17. yes, 2 separate dates because David Loehr had to pick another date besides the one he's had for years.

it's not a slam if it's the truth is it?

people are free to pick where they want to go. go to both if you want. but people need, and deserve, to know the what the deal is with the weekender and the rumble, that's all.

  18. would those be called "spamwiches"?

  19. indeed....

It's cool for the locals, but for coming in from out of town, it ****s. We booked the band for the weekender without knowing about the split from the car show.

I was asked to post this by Dvid Loehr the man who has put on the Rockabilly Rebel Weekender since its inception

This is David Loehr, as organizer of RRW I would like to clarify the
situation before the waters get too muddy!
The ROCKABILLY REBEL WEEKEND and THE ROAD ROCKETS RUMBLE
are Now 2 different events! Due to conflicts of interest the 2 events
have parted ways after 8 years.

Both events are lots of fun, but there are 2 major differences.

THE ROAD ROCKETS RUMBLE is a car show.

THE ROCKABILLY REBEL WEEKEND is The Premier Rockabilly Music Festival

so let me get this straight, one will be a three day car show with a few bands and the other is a three day music fest with a few cars?

why a three day car show?

  24. i know what you mean.
bring your cars anyway. why not? let's have our own car show at the weekender. this time, it'll be a show, not a compe***ion. no b.s. awards or any of that other silliness. just a car show where we can hang out, shoot the bull and enjoy the company of other like minded individuals.

  25. the Rockabilly Rebel Weekender is first and foremost a music festival. over the years, (up until a few years ago) there has been somewhat of an impromptu car show. people drive their cars to the music fest and people check 'em out and whatnot. i'm sure this year will be no different than those previous years.

the rumble is first and foremost a car show with some bands. why a 3 day car show? ask goodguys how much money they line their pockets with.

Spam would be at the Road Rocket show (where Bubba is going to be, if you can talk him into it ;)).

The Road Rocket's one-day car show (Sat), is not your usual car show. One would have to experience it.

Please explain...you know me and what I like, will I enjoy it or am I going to be rolling my eyes at the "antics"

The RR one is the one I plan on attending IF you guys are going. I've got plans to come Friday after work, do the show on Saturday and leave for home sometime on Sunday afternoon. I'm not really into the music or "scene" so just a car show is fine with me AS LONG AS my Indy pals will be there. You guys are all going right??

Yeah, that does stink. Hopefully you can still make both events. Personally I'm glad they are separated as it was just too much to take in on the same weekend. It's hard to see everything when you have two top notch events going on in the same weekend.
