http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1934...oryZ6181QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Looks like it would take weeks to get all of it out of there...........
what an incredible collection. I wonder what the R.O.I. would be on a purchase like that. I'm sure some investor is going to find out.
That comes out to $1700 each. Some that is a killer deal, others it is not. If you could get them all for $100k, then you'd be doing well.
I think that's probably worth it but you have the expense of moving them. I sure would like to have one of those 5 window A bodies.
wow, and it says paypal or us postal money order... can you imagine walking up to the post office with $195 grand!
A friend of mine knows the executor of this estate. I heard they don't expect to get a quality bid on Ebay but are laying some groundwork for selling the stuff later. Cheap advertising I guess. Ive seen this auction mentioned on every forum I visit. Most likely, the cars will be sold one at a time later. BTW, The model A's and the '39 pickup are mine so just stay away from them!<O</O
I am eyeballin' that '39 PU - so you may just need to get your gloves out of the closet and dust em off...
thats pretty cool. whole lot of cars there, your probably right thow just using it for free advirtising
This Is A Lifetime Collection Of One Man ! He Fully Intended To Restore These Cars But Ran Out Of Time ! Who the heck buys over a hundred vehicles and "fully" intends to restore 'em. He was a junk collector, not a restorer.
why coudn't I have a relative with this stuff,,,kick the bucket and leave it to me,,,,,,I'd probly keel over too anyway,so it really wouldn't do me any good
damnfingers +1!! Don't you think there would be at least ONE restored car in the pile somewhere?? Yeah, junk collector. Dan
$195,000 for y'all. Somebody with the talent and the contacts is a fool not to take a nibble. Hate to see these treasures crushed...
they are never going to get 195k if there was a auction i bet most cars would go for less $400 each and then get them out of field better bring our own equipment cause thes junk collectors wont have anything , and then try to get the titles??? and then transport to east or west coast $1000 a car. and look carfully at some of the cars they are missing a lot of hard to find stuff
Well SOMEONE thought it was worth $195k! <TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" bgColor=#eeeeee><TBODY><TR><TD colSpan=5><TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%"><TBODY><TR><TD width="100%">This item has ended with Buy it Now.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR><TR><TD colSpan=6></TD></TR><TR><TD></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> Cheers, Glen.
There a point to that, or... ? I mean, so what if he was going to restore them or not. Without guys like that cars like those would be a damn sight harder to find.
you would be suprized at what this stuff would bring if they had an auction on that site. I go to alot of auctions in nebrask and kansas and don't do very much buying. The stuff just brings to much.
i like how many model A coupes are there, everyone on here lookin for one could be happy.........in one pic theres a backhalf to a roadster pickup with a roll bar in it! coulda been a old hotrod......damnit!
I just posted another thread about this auction - http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=236201 There is more stuff that never made it into the pix - parts, motors, tools, you name it! The old man just dreamed his days away in the barn.
It was posted in the ad that they were purchased with the intent to restore. He's simply calling B.S., that's all. I kinda agree. Either way I don't really care why he bought 'em. Fact is he did, and there still waiting to be restored... wish I coulda bought a couple myself. Todd
1931 Studebaker President Regal Victoria (worth six figures if restored) I talked to the auctioneer again today, and this stuff will be showing up on evilBay again - count on it!
