Did Ford make a "double-cab" pickup in the early snub-nosed Econoline series? If so, any pics?

I dont belive so. The Econoline PU was made from 61-67. All of them had basicly the same shape. It was the original supercab with space behind the seats.

I don't think Ford did, but there were crew cab forward control jeeps made, mostly for military I think. Some had German cerlist [probably spelled wrong], diesels in them. Forgot what the miltary designation for them was.

No , there were only the 3 window and 5 window versions. I think the last pickup was made in 65 . The first generation vans went till 67 . 66 and 67 had long rear taillights.

The trucks were also made in '66/'67.

Did they have round or elongated taillights? Did they have the 240 engine or just the 170?

The lights are all the same, I have no idea about the engine options.

Nope. The Super Vans/extended vans had the long, rectangular lights, all the rest of the vans and pickups had round lights. The early Econos had 144 or 170 inline 6s. The 240 came available in 65. 65-67 could have either a 170 or 240. There never were extended or double cab pickups, but I'm sure someone out there has made one at some point. The vans came in a variety of configurations from no windows and only rear doors, to 8 doors, and all windows, pop-up camper tops, etc

I can't see the appeal of ANY econoline.
It doesn't look like any thing traditional OR hot rod
They have as much style as an empty cracker box.

They are functional for hauling trash to the dump or for camp gear.

they're about as "traditional" as any early to mid-60s Ford truck.

Yep, I was wrong, I just saw a Supervan on Craigslist with the odd shaped lights. I had never noticed them before.

Ok, I found the production numbers on the pickups...3,090 in 66, and 2,015 in 67...
I'm not totally sure of this though I'm pretty sure the 240 didnt start till 66. At least that's what my NAPA parts guy said.

  18. I know it's a Dodge, but ALL cab forward trucks were pretty cool if you ask me.

Yeah, I have never seen an Econoline van or "vruck" hauling a dragster on a trailer, being used as push car at a drag strip or Bonneville, or as a shop truck/parts hauler:rolleyes:

I will second that thought and state that I also like the vans.

I came across an Econoline van spliced together with a pickup at the local Pick-a-Part (Ontario). I snagged the tailgate but there was some decent sheet metal left for anyone in need.
