I remember seeing that Merc at the LARS last year. What a bitchin car. Didn't like the billet,57 Caddy looking wheels though...

Hey lets face it,even if Rick uses high tech wheels and shit ,his cars are still KUSTOMS! Hes not like the others who just build rods over the 1948 year break and talk about how they are building modern customs.Other guys in Ricks category (true modern customs) are guys like Dave Auten Jr and a few others.As for me ,Ill stick to bias and 57 Caddys.Im from N.Y.!Whadda ya expect?

 

Oh,The roof omn the 51 he did last is killer and the car has a ton of refreshing touches.It takes nuts to be innovative with a merc !I wouldnt try it!lol

 

Don't misunderstand me,I love the car! It's amazing in person. The paint is out of this world. Much better than the usual pink or lavender he's known for.

Sorry i dont have any, it appears to be a light aqua blue with verylight ghost flames, he had it in front of the shop yessterday. Its very similay to the one you posted picks of.

 

Tony Stewart won the bid!!! Well it's Home Depot orange,LOL!!! Wonder if it will show up on some comercial,HA HA!

Man it looked beautiful in the direct overhead shot under those lights as it left the stage. Got to love House of Color orange!

I usually watch the auction for entertainment,but when I saw that Merc...I was glued to the TV!!! It would be soooo cool to see a car that belonged to a HAMBer on there.

Steve really knows his shit! I'm amazed at how much car knowlege he has. I sat next to him at Pamona one year. He's very friendly and talkative,LOL!

That car is beautiful in person. I saw it today as it rolled into the lanes.

 

Those pic's I posted are from last years LARS. Slddnmatt was all over that car,cause that's the color he wants for his Merc. Pic's don't do it justice.

 

I just watched it roll out at BJ before getting on line. Great looking car - those wheels just seem off. Don't get me wrong this car pulls um off, but they take away from a great looking car.

 

If you look closely at the pic I posted,they appear to have a 57 Caddy look but instead of being flush,even sticking out of the rim,they are recessed. Would look 100% better,IMO,if it had real Caddy caps.
