I would like to see the seats and roof insert.

as for critiquing, there are some things i wouldn't have done, but isn't that what hot rods are about? not doing the things that everyone else would do?

one question. is the iron cross cut out for show or to let the radiator breathe?

    oh and nice shop!

Hey,you're building something to your vision,to a great standard,it'll always stand out/divide opinion but if everyone built formulaic cars it'd be a dull place...i can dig it.

  7. I like the cars over all look .... the motor is "bitchen" but a bit too chiny for me ...the big thing that i see is the gauges...some classic black and white face gauges would look much better with the tooled dash

I've been following this build since the beginning. The detail and workmanship are outstanding. Thank you for sharing.

The response you got from some people is why others won't post pictures of their builds but I guess we need to be a little more thickskined than we are. You have built a nice car that is bitchin. I'm glad that they don't all look the same. would be very dull to always see the same cars done the same way, huh? Thanks for sharing your pictures! BOBBY FORD

Awesome car, totally bad. I bet it will cause quite a stir. You can't make everyone happy, just yourself. Maybe they are just jealous or what ever....thanks for the post. You could park it in my garage anytime.

    Hey Eddie,
Where'd you learn the leather tooling from? Nice work!
    Overall that car is killer!
The only thing wrong with it is that it isn't in my garage.....

Tandy leather is a national chain of stores that sell leather working stuff. I went in and told them what I wanted to do and recommended a few books. Not being one to follow directions I just bought some tools and went at it. I made a purse for my girlfriend for practice and then went to town.

The scoop came with the motor and I actually intended on selling it. But it has grown on me since sitting in the shop. I agree too modern but I may keep it we'll see. Valve covers are better than what was on there, and I am limited in choices of styles that will also clear the stud girdles. But I may change them, I agree a little modern for the car.

The gauges are what they are... Again somewhat limited on choices when looking for boost, fuel pressure, etc. Not going to give up on the vitals for style too much money in this motor.

Thanks again for all the compliments. I'll post up more leather pictures when it's done.

Great looking craftsmanship. I don't think I could get past many staters up here in Wa with the blower and scoop sticking up but it does give it "the look".
I've been pondering a set of those fabbed valve covers for my daily driver to replace the always leaking genuine gm chrome ones.

As far as the gages go, It's "run what ya got". Isn't it.

I am worried about getting pulled over too much with the motor up in the line of sight. The motor is as low as I could get it and not hang bellow the frame. I drove the crap out of this car with the other motor and plan to do the same now..... AS long as they let me.

I plan to run front license plate and every other thing that usually gets you popped and hopefully they will appreciate the effort and let me slide on the blower...... I might be dreaming.

When building a car you should strive for that Love It or Hate It response (Mission Accomplished!)- never strive for in between.

  18. Well, hmm. I guess it's not my style. Great work though.

im running the finned cal custom covers on my big block with stud girdles. you just have to run spacers.

Well that is a mean looking machine. Grrrr... Seems to me someone might be making up for something they lack. But besides that it's bad azz... Can't wait to see what she'll run in the quarter, good luck with traction. :)

Yeah Im not that into it but that said its an amazing piece of work. The quality looks insane. The gauges are a no brainer, Id say you prolly have a ton of dough in that motor, and dont want to trust it to "might be" accurate.

You are kidding yourself though if you dont see that as a ticket with four tires. Might as well tool yourself a little leather glove box like Milner for "CS" filing! :)

I Fu@%in dig it! Not much for iron crosses, but the car has a killer stance and alot of good fab work and most importantly... Attitude.
    Well done. Matt.

I don't understand those that see this car and don't say "WOW". Big motor, style and stance , that's a hot rod. Not to mention anyone that's been following the build is fully aware of the craftsmanship that has gone into this hot rod. As a builder I admire the project for the quality of work alone.

Congratulations! If you are ever in my area and need a place to park I would be honored to have this hot rod in my garage :)

Well of course it doesnt exactly fit here with the pro street guages and scoop, but that could be changed. If its intended to pull in some work for your business then I kind of understand the over the top look. Anyway looks like quality work regardless of the mixed theme. I'll be watching for the finished product.

I don't think anyone has questioned the quality of craftmanship. Just to me it's a little rat rodderific in a cartoon sort of way. Not knocking the guys skills. But it's hit pretty much all the cliches. I prefer something a little more nostalgic looking. It's got "WOW" factor but not in the same way that Bass', Bleed's, or Jimmy White's does....

Thanks again for the compliments. This car was built purely how I envisioned it for no other reason than thats what I wanted to do with it. I think it is funny how nearly every hotrodder I know is always trying to make there rig faster but now I have built something too much....... wtf?

The rodders I grew up with were always stufffing in the biggest motor they had into the lightest car.... I guess I thought this was normal. Well at least I have one part of the equation checked off, as for traction, well that will take some more serious "track" only tires and a little bit of hold on to your ass. But if this car was built just for time slips I would have put an auto in it instead of the four speed.

I just started working at the shop about six months ago, after being in construction for the rest of my career. I have a lot to learn but am enjoying it.

Oh yah I realize that it isn't pure traditional, If you have read my other posts you know this. But I like the hamb and for the most part people seem to like the car, but if the sour pusses outweigh the compliments I'll take my ball and go home!!
