I'm not gonna hate on it, but I think if you were a little more consistent in your selection of parts it would be more cohesive in it's entirety. Workmanship is top notch, but the overall theme is confused; am I pro-street, am I traditional, am I a rat rod... or all of the above?

my $.02,
-ditch the lame ass scoop
-understood that the BBC is not trad, but see of you can do better for valve covers.
-Moon makes all the guages you need. They are Autometer guages with Moon faces, so they are identical to what you already have, except they don't ruin your beautiful dash.
-That Iron Cross abortion in the trunk needs to go. If you need to vent the trunk for the radiator that's fine, but make a different shape. That hokey iron cross bullshit discredits you as a builder by lumping your car in with the rat rod abortions we see in OSR. Your car is much better than that, and you're a better builder than that. You don't wear dickies to a court appearance.

3. Its not bad but that scoop and iron cross have to go!

Gawd damn.....nice craftsmanship...I like the dash but could do without the cross also. Who cares, this is much more important:

You need a goddamn helmet, fire suit, and a parachute for that rocket! You're gonna kill yourself with all that power in that light car!

Funny stuff. A buddy of mine built a real similar setup for his RPU, calls it "Evil Earl", with a blown big block, I think I'm too scared to ride in it....hahaha. Oh well, you can never have too much horsepower....

Man What a Ugly Car
haha Im totally jokin that car is top notch in my book. You did a great job on it and your design is killer. Its like no other and thats the best part. Dare to be different. You have to face that if you post pics up of your ride on this site or any other site your never going to get 100% Positive responses. Everyone sees things in a different light. If you were to build the car the way others told you to build it, it would NEVER BE FINISHED and if you did build it to what they tell you to everyones car would be the same shit it would be like were all driving glass 32 fords hahaha. Keep up with being different it draws alot more attention to you which is one of the best things for getting your work and skill noticed. HAHA heres life advice from a 16 year old kid pshh Just my .02 -Jon

Well I usually wouldn't comment on a post like this, but when you start busting Nads' balls, I figure I'd throw in my opinion.

First off, Nads is one of the coolest MF'ers here and I'd drive his car before I drove Eddie's.

I wont pick apart all the stuff that everyone else already covered, so I'll comment on the "roll cage".

Why have it? That "cage" wouldn't pass tech anywhere being bolted to the floor. But maybe "race car" is one of the themes being thrown in with all the others?

Dont take offense. Obviously there is a lot of quality workmanship, and I bet it's a blast to drive....

I think it is horrible, so just do yourself a favor and give it to me and I will drive the damn wheels off of that thing! I really dig it man. Just cuz it is not all rusted out and hacked all to hell doesn't mean it is not cool... You can't please everybody anyways, so as long as you and I like it, that is all that matters. Enjoy it man!

Eddie,
Your car is truely one of a kind. After lookin at the pics of it w/out the exposed bars and iron cross I have decided you did a good thing. Aside from the scoop I would just run it. You are the artist, and you have built a piece of art.

Ya don't cut on Superman's cape, ya don't pull the mask off the 'ol Lone Ranger, and ya don't show an Iron Cross on the HAMB. Can't remember which number that Commandment is. You've been around here long enough to know you would get opinions without asking for them. And, with your unique car you had to know there would be a mixed reaction. At my advanced age, I've learned to thank the folks that make complimentary remarks and not worry too much about the rest. I will admit though, I do consider people's criticism of my cars in those quiet, reflective moments after the emotional element has waned. Since I can't claim to be a world class designer, sometimes, way after the fact, I've actually changed something based on criticism that initially just made me angry.
Oh, I have nothing to "suggest" as far as changes to your car to please me. I just wish I could spend an hour looking at it in person to take in all you have accomplished.

Eddie, since you feel the need to pick apart other peoples ride to make you feel better about the comments, here's my model A coupe. It's not exactly traditional either, disk brakes, and modern blower. Your workmanship is better than mine by far, but I suppose so is your tool selection. The only thing (IN MY OPINION) I don't like about your car is the lack of restraint.....too much channel, engine too high, the dash is awesome, and the seats will be great as a compliment, but then moving on to the top as well would be too much. IN MY OPINION, your car is an example of overkill. Too much of a good thing.

Of course, it is your car to build how you want, and I'm not saying you shouldn't...........

Here's mine.........have at it.

A bomb, I appreciate that you took what I said to heart although I guess my point probably got lost in my own lack of ability to articulate my thoughts. I am after all a hands on guy not a writer.

I wish emotion showed better through the computer cuzz if it did you guys would see that I am a pretty easy going guy and just here for fun. If you go and look up my build thread you will see that I catch plenty of shit and for the most part let it roll.

But hey just like some of you think I should just eat crap from whoever wants to give it. I believe I have a right to respond. I don't know nads and from the pm he sent me (bellow) I think he is a good guy, he was just the lucky one that I felt like responding directly to.

You are right, I do know exactly what to expect on this board, and yes I knew that some of my "style" choices would rub people that is a large part of the reason I chose some of them. I consider my self an artist and like to spike some emotions and make people talk. Not out of a desire for attention but to hopefully challenge what some people think is the ONLY way.

Nads PM

Nads.Yeah it is ordinary and plain, I prefer it that way, I have no great desire to be looked at or to win trophies, I just like to drive my hot rod, and the welds are covered in copious amounts of bondo now so no one can see them.

Good luck with your car, you have more fans of it than not, you should be happy and not be wasting time finding dirt on those who don't dig your car.

Sincerely,

Nads.

Now then Nads actually started a thread just to talk about someone giving him a thumbs down while driving. We all would prefer to have people "get" what our cars mean to us.

for those of you who haven't followed the build, I just started working at a shop recently 90% of the work was done at home in my 2 car garage. The work that was done at the shop was simply because there was more space and a spray booth. The shop (prior to me) concentrated mostly on restoration work not custom so the tooling is no better than what I have at home.

So I am just another hack home builder doing the best I can with what I got.

Hope all is good no hard feelings with anyone, just wanted to dish alittle back. Nads hope to meet you in person some day, I'll buy the beers.

Eddie, I don't know why you singled me out as the detractor to go after, there were others but you were scoring well over 90% approval, you shoulda been jumping over the moon, with that kinda rating the president would be able to give us all the finger, attack all the muthafuckin' axis of evil AND boink Liv Tyler live on CNN whilst chugging back a Margarita.
If you plan on buying me beers you had better bring a deep wallet or cheap ass Natty Light.

Seeya around.

Well, you definatley spiked some emotions....of course, yours were spiked back a little I think. ....And I also think that that's fine, you do fantastic work, and should be proud of what you built. Some guys were a little personal, I tried to say what I didn't like about it without adding any "attack" in my words, and I hope it came across that way.

Good luck with it, and good luck with the cops.

i saw this thing before the bbc and all the rest. amazing work. you dont see this kind of shit driving around where we live(orangevale, ca). i say fuck em. go build your own car and keep the negitivity to yourself. i see plenty of cars at shows that i don't like and i keep walking. so if you cant appreciate it, keep walking. i love traditional cars, but don't you guys get tired of seeing the same cars over and over, i do. it seems like no one ever steps out of the box and does something different. sweet car. can't wait to see it in person again. and i would love to go for a ride in it. i'm right around the corner....

Nice work Eddie and you did it your way. I think that's what it is suppose to be all about. And, I couldn't agree more about if you don't have something nice to say, say nothing at all. Craig W.

The "cage" is built to my tech. I feel confident that it will help protect my mellon and that is what matters to me. The cage is bolted directly to the frame using grade 8 3/8" bolts.

I have never looked at any rule books, but when building this I was told that this would pass tech for drags. I don't know. Won't matter unless I go run and actually get into the times requiring it to be certified. Given traction, and a four speed and my lack of experience I honestly have no idea what will happen if I actually go to the track

Thanks Jim I was checking out your car (awesome) the other night, I think we may think alike?

I agree the photochopped version of my car just loses it character although it may be more "accepted"
