SO, maybe I can't drive it. So what? At least my son had tons of fun "playing" with it! I love nights home with the kids, messing around with junk and fueling my 3 year old son's love for all things automotive!

And the final resting place, the "junkyard".

Hope you have as much fun laughing at these pics as I did building the playdough rat!

    Great!
    That's a keeper

  15. So, it went to the junkyard? Would you be interested in parting it out? Some parts look as if they are salvageable. How much for the radiator/grill shell?

I think the previous owner of my F100 used that same stuff to repair some of the body panels.

Haha, thanks for all the replies! Just to clear up a minor detail though.. I actually "built" it, for my son to have fun with.

He loves cars and will probably be doing better renditions than that one someday. He has a whole bunch of matchbox and hotwheels cars already, and he knows most of them by make and model. He's been able to identify them like that since early age 2. We just found out last April after his 3rd birthday, that he is Autistic. His social skills are lacking, but he has some very cool savant skills (remembering the car names of 30+ cars at age 2 being one of them). He's doing much better with social stuff lately though, so I'm very optimistic about him being able to live a "normal" life as an adult. And hopefully he'll stay as much of a car nut as he is now!

Should of went out to the shop and gather up some metal dust from the grinder and mixed it in the dough, then just wait for the rust to grow, everybody knows it ain't a rat rod if it ain't got "Patina".
Looks great though, better built than a lot of the real ones I've seen.

  22. Kids are fun.

Mine is out taking her next-to-last lesson at the driving school tonite. She was asking me about drag racing and autocross last week. I had to tell her grandpa that I think she inherited the Nielsen throttle-actuation gene...

Great way to keep generations together.

That looks way more "traditional" than some slapped together rat rod, I like the unchopped look also.

  26. Camaros aren't bad, what you gotta watch for is the "Import Tuner" shit, wrong as two boys in one sleeping bag.
