    Some quick gum-flapping...

Every time I post I think of Littleman's posts with Death's Doorstep and Dodgerodders posts on the Fordor now RPU. I remember everytime they posted how excited I got to see the progress they were making and that "outside the box" thinking that was going on. Just a quick thanks out to those guys in case they're reading. It meant a lot to me to be kept in the loop on those builds! In fact... I wouldn't mind seeing some updates from those guys! (hint hint!)

Oh... and of course the daily ritual of watching the video Flyin' Dutchman did of Jimmy White's Hemi coupe! What could get a person more motivated to build loud, fast, early tin than THAT!? LOL!

  2. Awesome awesome awesome Scooter! I just can't get over the progress you've had since I saw it here in vegas. Hey, your crossing out the "to do" list on the door one bye one? Doesn't that feel great? Absolutely incredible job! :)

How did you hook up the leaf spring in the front. Is it attached to the wishbones? Is there any way you could shoot a couple of pictures of the front suspension from the top down.

    Thanks

HEY DARLIN!!! :D I'm waitin for Slick Willie to post now! HAHA!! Now you guys just need to grab the little one and come down and see it HERE! ;):D

Got ya' covered man! Tons of pictures! Just let me know what you need.

I used the original shackle mounts that would have been AHEAD of the axle and connected to the ends of the bones, cut them off and rewelded them to the bones in the right place. They will need to be gussetted and a shock mount will get incorporated in with it. Those things are coming up on the list very quickly!! I'm anxious to get the bones wrapped up.

    Some views for you...

Again, these are not finished and the crossmember is not finished either. The front of the frame is going to get cut off in front of the crossmember and there will only be radiator mounts up there.

You go Scooter! I can hear the excitement you have agian on this car. I agree that it is what you have been missing. After talking to you this morning, you got me going on working on the 57. You definately convinced me... we're driving the 57 your way soon; probably not till after the PE though. Awesome job man! I just wish you were still here, so I could have worked on it with ya more.

    Looking Good.

Do you think your shackles are going to bind? I used the bolt on spring pivots. they bolt to the radius arm and allow the shackles to stay square with the spring.

    Hey Jimmy!!

When I laid this out in CAD, amazingly the spring fell dangerously close to traveling concentric with the radius of the bones' travel path. Things should be A-O-K. I need to adjust the actual length of the bones with the rod ends a bit though about 3/8 or 1/2 and inch.

Did you score that intake you linked me to???

KICK ASS!! Would love a visit! YES! Wait until after the PE test, that way you can relax and not worry about all that business. Might make a great "after test trip" actually! :D
